Does any one know internet cafe with fast connection in beirut? with WIFI connection if available... I want to download Kubuntu 10.04 LTS for my laptop.
Huhh!? You'll be spending more money on the Coffee than the price of the ticket for the nearest country with a decent internet connection.

You just need a 512kb connection, with an unlimited night traffic ;)
why dont you try asking for a free cd shipment from their webpage, once a friend of mine asked for one and got it by snail mail, which is miracle taking into account our chaotic mail system. they do take some time around a month or two depending on your delivery address.
or try buying it from a cd stores, they might have it.
free cd shipment is now limited to organizations who order massive quantities. 12 million users, what do you expect !

You could try to get in touch with Ubuntu Lebanon or the RootSpace, they could hook you up with a CD. Maybe some other members on the forum could help you out.

PS ditch KDE. That thing is the less practical invention of all time.

Didn't know that they stopped shipping free cds to regular people.
I used to go to Burger King at Furn el Chebbak, where there's almost nobody using the internet and u get a decent 512kbps speed. also at Dunes verdun at Mcdonald's

Basically avoid coffee shops as people go there for their internet with their coffee, and then the waiters will start going around the tables asking you if you are downloading anything

that is hilarious.

why don't you look for any site that has kubuntu splitted into four or so downloads, so you could ask three friends or people to download each one a part, when the whole process is finished you could merge the four parts and get kubuntu.
