I don't know the model number but I bought it with Graphic Design .... Its a Toshiba , VGA 1 Giga Nvidia , Processor i7 , Windows 7 . 6 Gb of Ram that can be upgraded to 8 , 500 GB hard disk ... I sometimes have Cinema 4D rendering , Working with After Effects and Premier and photoshop open all at the same time and I jump from one software to another in a breeze ... Rendering time is very good specially for 3D files .. I recommend it and I bought it for 1400 $
Good laptop to buy from Lebanon
kareem_nasser wroteYou use VMware for dual boot?samer wroteI second the MacBook, now that Steam is there gaming shouldn't be an issue. You can easily dual boot anyway. Also, Photoshop and 3D software could be a better experience to use on OS X.
But if Macs do not suit you, then you probably should get a VAIO – it seems to be what people are recommending all the time.
No, you can dual boot natively using Boot Camp – it's not a virtual machine.Yorgi wroteNo. He's using Parallels Desktop 5 for Mac.kareem_nasser wroteYou use VMware for dual boot?
How do I know that ? Where do I check ?mk555 wroteThe laptop seems good but can you tell me the name of the graphic cardZickar wroteI recently bought a laptop from a showroom in Furn El Cheback .. Are you capable of buying from the internet? because you could try two options: gateway or dell.
Dell or alienware, has great gaming laptops which can be delivered to lebanon.
i would recommend you getting this laptop configuration as it is very nice considering budget limitations,
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English
Intel® Core™ i7-720QM Quad Core Processor 1.6GHz (2.8GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB Cache)
1 Year Basic Service Plan
1GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 260M
15.6-inch WideHD+ 1600x900 (900p) WLED
3GB DDR3 at 1066MHz
250GB SATAII 7,200RPM
Slot-Load Dual Layer DVD Burner (DVD+-RW, CD-RW)
Primary - 6-cell (56Watt) Lithium-Ion Battery
Wireless 1520 802.11n Half Mini-Card
Alienware M15x, Cosmic Black
1700$
A recommendation: avoid buying the 1920x1200 or 1920x1080 configuration, it consumes a lot of graphic resources and if you don't have a good processor and graphic card and a big screen you wont notice positive performance while gaming
Now, if you can buy from amazon, i would recommend you buying a gateway p7801 which is the current laptop am using for gaming, its amazing for many games, even though it has its limitations with games like GTA 4, CRYSIS, among other few heavy titles. you could also try looking in gateways page.
hope it helps

This is an extremely expensive laptop for such specs. Check Minebabum wroteGenuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English

I bought it from the US for 1340 $
I have the 1920*1080 display. and this is the best display i've ever seen. I can play COD6 at this resolution very smoothly. The level of details is amazing.A recommendation: avoid buying the 1920x1200 or 1920x1080 configuration, it consumes a lot of graphic resources and if you don't have a good processor and graphic card and a big screen you wont notice positive performance while gaming
And if you are in lebanon, i don't recommend buying an Alienware... They don't have shops and repairing centers in Lebanon.
yes i know that 1920x 1080 display rocks, i have one myself, but if the graphic card isnt strong enough and you are using a 15' screen, it simply isn't worth it.
You can keep the 1920x1080 res on your desktop. In-game you can lower it down if you feel performance is degrading.
Not a big deal.
Not a big deal.
i hate to disagree with that one, but if you have a native resolution of 1920x1080 and you downgrade it while gaming to 1440x1200 or any other res, it will not look as good as if it was its native resolution.
and you could use the few bucks you just saved on the screen config to pay for the shipment.
but it is a matter of personal liking. each and every person can choose what he finds more convenient.
