How can I know the region of my PS3?
Is it capable of playing Any DVD Region ?
How about BluRay Movies ?

Offcourse I'm asking about Original DVDs.
I have no idea, all I know is that I bought 2 bluray movies from virgin. One worked the other didn't.
Where did you buy your PS3 from?

The region codes for DVD and Blu-ray playback can be found on the box your PS3 came in.
Well you bought if from a store here right ? Usually all the PS3s that come and are sold in Lebanon are European. So basically Blurays should be in the EU region to be played by your ps3. Legit DVDs Also need to be EU, but copied dvds can be read with no restrictions.
A PS3:
PAL= Region 2
NTSC-U/C=Region 1
NTSC-J=Region 3
You can easily identify which region is it from the box.

Whenever you're able to get your hands on an HDTV, do that. The games on an HDTV look much much better than they look on an SDTV, provided you use an HDMI cable. As for region graphical differences, you won't be able to tell the difference at all in an HDTV.
Though my students use a decent entry series Sammy HDTV and v1.3 HDMI with everything configured on ps3 by me but still the aliasing pisses me off. I suppose it is the TV because the old type which has a native resolution 1366*768(720p) and it can do 1080i too but i was only able to notice the difference so it isn't a big deal.
