Hey guys... just have a simple & stupid question that i cannot figure out how to do....

how do you change your offline profile NAME on PS3 for call of duty modern warfare 2

i have a couple of PS3s and all the accounts have their player name called "Player" !!

how can i change those ??

yes man... when playing lan ... all player names are called player ... although the offline profiles have different names !!

i really dunno how on Ps3 , sorry dude, but on pc its pretty easy, doesn't require thinking xD, can't remember how though lol.

If I'm not mistaken, you need to create a new user for each player who's using your PS3(s) & name it with your desired name.

Exactly as iWiCkeD said.
You can't change it each game. You have to create new user for each playstation so it will change during lan games. No other way around.

Cyril let me recap ... each playstation has 1 user ... and each MW2 has 1 offline profile with are called differently .... so now what should i do ?? remember am playing over lan !

hey Cyril ... i tried creating a PSN account for one of the PS3s .. an then logged in into PSN ...
then when i play LAN ... the name PLAYER converts to my PSN id..
but if i play LAN without an internet connection ... it takes me back to PLAYER ...
cant figure it out !!! its so stupid ... if ur playing offline .. the player name should have been the offline profile's file name!!

It is actually a dumb but yet its one of the big drawbacks of the offline multiplayer gaming.
To my knowing, this isn't possible on consoles. It will stay with the default user name: Player.

Then i think you should keep your ps3 connected to the internet and logged in to psn accounts to keep player names while playing lan. it wouldnt hurt unless someone logs in to play an online game and sucks up bandwidth.

Takes too much time, connection consumption, and the main point, not each time a player wants to play he has to put his password and username and log out as he quits.

+ what can he do to players with no online profile?

i agree with both of you ... but the main point here is that i dont want to have an internet connection!
i think they screwed up this part of the game!
