rolf wroterahmu wroteAdvanced manipulations of virtual emulated terminals. Command line afficionados tools.
And when would that be useful? Can you give examples?
I use command line but am satisfied with the plain old tabbed Terminal.
i use screen every day and often would not consider working without it.
the reason is for example should there be a network interuption, i can reconnect
to my terminal session and continue where i left of.
screen is a very important tool for example when updating a linux box.
if your session gets disconnected amidst an update, you very well might have
to reinstall your whole system, with screen you would run the update from within
and do not need to worry should you loose your connection.
with the -x option, you can share your session with another user, where both
can interact with the session.
