Hey guys,
I'm wondering what's the average good resolution for a webcam? My laptop has a 1.3MP webcam and it's pretty good actually. But when I go to some PC shop I see a lot of webcams with over 5MP!! Wouldn't that decrease the quality of the video-chat (taking into consideration that we do not have broadband in Lebanon).
So the point is, what would be a good resolution for a webcam which doesn't get the video all pixelated and at the same time doesn't make the video-chat experience a nightmare?

5mb is an exageration, the communication software would downgrade the resolution for streaming.
1.3mb is sufficient and you need to have good software and bandwidth to even use that, that is why most are vga quality or even less!!
nowadays most phones have dual cameras for video calls but none that i have so far tested are worth it. the quality is poor, it lags and consumes bandwidth.
the best that i have seen so far is cisco (which actually is another company that cisco bought out)
