One console at a time:

PS3: Its a great option for 2 reasons. First, original games are in abundance at various shops and we usually get the games within 2-3 days of their European release. Actually, some of the games we usually get 4 days before release. Second, PSN cards are available but you'll have to create a UAE account to access their PS store and you can use these cards in the UAE store. Since you won't be losing anything on your PS3, i.e. your Canadian account will stay the same and anything you download on your PS3 from the UAE store would work (be careful because many of the DLC are region locked so all the games you bought from Canada won't work with the UAE DLCs). Best option in my opinion.

X360: Not a great option for 2 reasons too. First, original games are scarcity in Lebanon and if you do find a store that sells them, they're usually old and their inventory is slowly updated. Second, there is a place that sells XLBA cards (EU and US) but considering the fact that original games are hard to pass-by, these cards are useless. All X360 games over here are pirated and you would obviously lose the ability to play online.

Wii: Another console where stores could load the console with pirated versions of the latest games. Online wise, the Wii is already far behind so I won't bother discussing that.

Lebanese internet connection: Up until now, the best connections you can get are from the public operator Ogero. In terms of speed and lag, the speed is low and there is some lag. In addition, you have a very limited quota per month depending on what speed you get. We were promised that the situation would get better during this year but this is Lebanon --> you can never know..

Cheers :D
We pay around $100 US / month for a relatively good connection (by local standards).
If you want we can do some pings (or other tests) and compare our connection so that you will know what to expect when you get here. I dont have an XBox though.
Lol Thanks for this good Answer :P Actully I wont lose anything. I have so much freind here is Canada that can send me XB games to lebanon. Not a big deal. And pirated CDs can get u banned from xbl for that i wont take the risk but i wont sell it either. Ill get to lebanon. AT the end here the ps3 and xbox are 300$ each. TBH I readed that in lebanon the PS3 is 430$ (the slim one) that what i have. But still i didnt understand what u mean for Wii. Like it wont work there? Heard that xb is 350$ in lebanon. I decided to get them with me wont lose anything. Thanks for your answer but just answer me this last question.(The wii question)

You're welcome....

About the whole Wii issue, stores over here can load copies of games unto memory cards and then you can play the games on your Wii. As for online play, I never experienced it directly. But from what I read its way too cumbersome involving the exchange of long friend codes in addition to some game specific codes. As for online play, I don't see too many people in our area playing online.
In general Microsoft is trying to gain fast attention in their gaming market so you should think about Project Natal here. Sony is confident of its market now that they released reports on their sales and again they had losses(read more here) so in sales PS3 is catching up pretty fast and with this comes more satisfaction to the consumer.

P.S: i have a PS3 and will add you to PSN today.
If you want here is a good comparison between the 2 consoles but i think they will end with a draw(or should). In the end it is your decision.
Wait, isn't the Mains power in Canada 110 volts ? You might want to consider buying 110v to 220v adapters for your consoles.
Doesn't the ps3 or most consumer electronics these days have this internally?
kareem_nasser wroteDoesn't the ps3 or most consumer electronics these days have this internally?
The European PS3s maybe yes. But the US and JP power supplies come strictly 110 volts max.
Good remark Flakk. Make sure you get an adapter, if your console is only 110V!

Hmm maybe becasue European are 220+V thats why. But i meant doesn't the PS3 automatically switches to 110-220?

from what i have heard European PS3 power supplies can handle from 110volts to 250 volts. But im not sure which versions.
The US and JP models have been reported with 110v only. Thus needing a transformateur.
Lol Yes guys i heard i have to change adapter but the problem is where i can buy the adapter Lol. Thanks for your help. :P

When you come here dont worry you can easily find one.
Or you can use a 110v to 220v transformateur for all your consoles without the need of changing any adapters. You can find these in electronics stores i think.
Lol Thanks ok dude ill accpet u on xbl its because im not going much on xb
@ FLashboy

You can buy these converters on eBay. I bought two already since I am going to Lebanon this summer. It's like 8$ apiece.
Lol I just talked to my dad and he said he gonna add Those adapter in the whole home. Like He will remove the old from the system and put the Canada system. Because Almost all the stuff like (TV) and stuff are from Canada.
