  • Ps3 games that run/seems to run [ONLINE] without lag in Lebanon

Guys, I created this thread for the unique purpose of sharing information about PS3 games
that look like they are not lagging online in Lebanon.

Begin by posting the name of the game followed by the connection used.

I'll begin by posting:

Battlefield bad company 2. (Ogero 1mb)

Amazingly I really enjoyed playing this game online, I didn't notice any lagging issues.
Finding and connecting to a game was done in seconds.
Using the sniper was a blessing even at extremely long range.

So if you know a game that is not lagging, please post it here.
Well i used to play Killzone 2 alot on my Wirelessbits 512k when the pings were good. It really depends on the connection from your ISP.

Currently in lebanon all ISP's have really high pings to all European, asian and american servers, except for Ogero in which all online games run smoothly.

We have said it loads of times in other threads if you want to game online, your best solution for pings is ogero. Or someone suggested the gaming package from sodetel (which is an extra 22$ with fixed ip and low pings) but so far i havent seen any feedback on that.
Flakk, i agree at a 100%.

But Just to make myself clear and explain what I'm trying to do here.

There is a huge difference when playing MW2 online and battlefield online. MW2 is always lagging it is impossible for me even on an Ogero 1mb to actually enjoy the game.
What I mean is that in MW2 the lag is obvious. Let's say you have someone in front of you climbing a ladder.
At the same second he finished climbing and he is on top of the building, you will see him (using leb connection 1mb Ogero) beginning climbing. So when you shoot down he will be up wondering what the hell you are doing laughing his ass off.

I realized the lag because there is in MW2 a cam that replays how you have been killed. So based on my calculations I'm behind the real action approximately 1 sec minimum in MW2.
You may say 1 second is not a big deal but i would like to point that, in 1 second the P90 fires 15 bullets.

In the case of Battlefield, It didn't seem to lag at all.

So It would be cool to post games that "seem" not to lag here.

Because seriously it might be the servers the game is on.

( Flakk I just read your answer in the battlefield thread, you might find here some things you already mentioned, sorry! :) )

I opened the thread about Sodetel gaming package, and I got it up and running two days ago, so far it is AWESOME!
I'm getting 3 bars(low ping) most of the time on MW2 (PS3)!!
The download/upload rates are like any other ISP DSL plans, but the latency is very low.

I can't talk about the service and stability, but if it continue like this...I definitely recommend it for gamers!
I was getting a better connection than a friend of mine with 1mb from ogero and he is paying more than me!
Yes i know how ping and latency work in games chosen2k :P i have lots of experience (and suffering) from it :P

Well i really dont know but the MW2 servers are really laggy to our connection based on maybe their location. Im not really sure but i think MW2 works on a Peer2peer system for online matchmaking and battlefield bc2 works on maybe dedicated servers or listen servers (not really sure bout that either).
Its maybe because of that one lags and the other doesn't. Need to research more about it though.

Thanks for the feedback. Thats great news indeed.
But i just wonder why they couldnt just give us low pings from the first place ? Theyre using us and were getting ripped-off. Having low pings is not a feature or a bonus its a requirement. Not just for gaming but for everything else.

I get that 3 bars on Ogero 1mb. It's good but not perfect. you will definitely feel the lag on the killcam.
But at least you are paying less. :)
Fifa 10 works perfectly well.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is terrible online.

But I'm paying less and have the unlimited night traffic...so Sodetel is better...till now

Yup i play NGS2 on ps3 with lots of lags and i asked everyone else in the US but they say it is the same thing.
chosen2k, I want to say you are wrong or maybe just unlucky with your connection about MW2.

I've been playing it nearly every day for few hours since 4 months and I have rarely experienced any lag except maybe 1 or 2 times a week for a game or two and its usually depending on the host.

Most of the time I play with 3 green bars (never 4). I'm using Ogero 512K and I got my first nuke yesterday!

Mabrook for the nuke bro, that's 25 kills in a row if i remember correctly.

Well probably bad luck for me, since to make MW2 work I used your tutorial :)

Hopefully one day we'll have better connections.
Currently playing Super Street Fighter 4. Tried the online part and it sucks big time. Its so laggy and the only time I recommend people this game online is to connect with someone in Lebanon using the same ISP. I'm currently using 512 ADSL from IDM. However, I connected with someone from Belgium and the connection was surprisingly nonlaggy (go figure this out).

I also tried Borderlands online and its not bad. I guess its because nothing is practically occurring on the screen so it will run on low connection speeds.

Yes it is 25 indeed. When you get above 20 kills your hand start to shake and the PS3 controller starts to get uncomfortable. You know what I mean !

I feel a sense of achievement, maybe just a little, seeing the slight advantage the other players have in the game connection-wise. The nuke sent me over the roof.

If you're ever going to try for it, I suggest to buy some pills to calm yourself and relax, but in the end, it's damn worth it :)
dear geeks, 1st I apologize to you cause my post is a little bit out of context.
However, I just want to share with you that I've managed to get my 1st nuke in MW2 a couple of days ago using a Wirelessbits 512Kbps connection (worst ever) & a red one bar of connection....don't I deserve some kind of an applause or something?....maybe a lifetime acheivement award for all the effort I've done against all the odds we have when it comes to internet connectivity in Lebanon? & if you come to think of it...getting a tactical nuke with all that lag...I feel like Rambo 4 mounted of that .50 caliber machine gun....so is there any geek up to the challange?....step up! :)

lol @ your rambo description
I salute you brother, i too have had lots of high scores and achievements (on pc games mostly) with high lag and high latency. Thats what we have to endure here in Lebanon.

Newest motto for Lebanese gamers: Lag makes us strong! :P

So if I were to get Borderlands and play online with my 512k DSL from Ogero, it won't lag?

There is some slight lag but nothing game breaking. But the most important thing is to play with someone you know because if you play with a complete stranger, he'll hog up every single item in the game and you'll end up scavenging behind him. Plus, try to play with people close to your level to fully enjoy the game.

Yeah that's what I've been told, I'm still not sure whether to get it or not, and even if I want to get it I also need to find someone or somewhere that sells it. :P
Thanks though man.
It's an old game, but never had any issue with it while playing online, and I think most of you would agree; GTAIV.

As for me still lost on what connection to get between Ogero, IDM & Sodetel.

edit: going to stick with the Sodetel, and might add the gaming package with it.
