In what i have read and seen in conferences Microsoft is starting to loose track on its hardcore gamers by maintaining its FPS or shooting gamers alone and the casual gamers by Kinect compatible games.
The X360 doesn't have a wide range of games to address all types of hardcore gamers. On top of that as we al know most of Lebanese X360 users have it modded so they cant play most times of media because they dont have a LIVE account, or connectivity to the internet. What MS is doing isn't bad but it is business.

As for the Activision issue well it is their lose because KZ3 is coming next month, or maybe Activision did it in purpose for them to differentiate themselves from the KZ3 community. By the way, a brief KZ3 review.

P.S: I am a PS3 owner and played on my friend's X360 i think more than on my PS3, and my point of view is that both are great but it depends on your preferences. As for the news published well i track PS3 news because i own a PS3 and the purpose of this thread is to avoid creating random and countless threads for gaming news links. Add to that some fellow members are getting annoyed by Gamers around here so consider this as a place to comment or post anything related to gaming.

The thing is that I track general gaming news. However, there really isn't much Xbox 360 news this year. It’s mostly Kinect this and Kinect that. The fact is that Microsoft didnt announce any exclusive titles for 2011, except for Gears of War 3, which was announced since like 2 years ago, I mean why?

Competition is good, but in 2011 there really wont be any of it, this is the PlayStation 3 year. What do MS have to offer? More Kinect and talk, oh yeah and probably they will announce Halo 4. That’s the best they can do.

If I want to listen to music or play a movie, well I have my computer; I can do much more than that. Whilst the Xbox 360 is a gaming console it is failing to deliver, I personally would like to see a fierce competition; eventually it would benefit gamers and the gaming industry in general. And fanboyism is just lame.

Unfortunately, it’s a fact, Microsoft don't give a crap about core gamers anymore. Least what MS should do is free online gaming, instead they're rising the funds for their Live memberships.

Btw,I tried Kinect and it felt like a gimmick, it failed to impress me, its pure embarrassment and thought its stupid, I have high hopes for Kinect sex though "Kidding :D"

I'll always buy a legit ps3 game even if it gets pirated i don't care, if i need a pirated console i'll just get a 360 for copied games, i'll never do that to my ps3.

@ Megacool, at leat now me and my ps3 friends won't bee in that line waiting for their (Activision) next call of duty gimmick-fare. and i totally agree with you that Ms isn't thinking straight about the function of it's product as a core gaming console cause they only have the green on their mind, and i know that all companies want the green but at least some deliver to their customers.

I too have tried the kinect, and yeah i think it falls short of what it's supposed to be able to do, but it works fine for 6 year old gamers.

@ Gomez012, you may be right, but there is no place for objectivity here, actually it is totally subjective in how one feels about the products and services that he/she is getting for his $ and what treatment he/she gets from a company that he'll probably sticking with until this console generation is over. and the same thing goes for the activision thingy going on and how a community is being treated, i may go psychological on you guys, but when there is competition on this scale + undeniable sense of community for people on all ends of the competition + mistreatment = subjectivity + extreme fanboyism. so for now i am sorry but i'll keep claiming ms and act. to be an ass.

As long as MegaCool spoke about the Kinect being a gimmick then i will criticize Sony's 3D approach to gaming. After using 3D during the entire GT5 time trail challenge, I wasn't personally happy or attracted to the idea. I told one of the employees at Sony World that it was a pure gimmick and i still remember Kaz Hirai(he occupies a lot of Sony exec positions) during E3'10 that he said that games are not adapted for 3D they were created from the ground up for 3D. Well for GT5 this isnt the thing it was clear that they added the feature i think the last year of production.
As for the PS Move well i cant talk much because more "hardcore" games are on the way coming to the controller, but i can say that when i tried it at Sony World well i lived the moment and almost was going to break some X-Mas decorations there(i was playing Sports Champion btw).

As a side note for the 3D on ALL the 3D enabled TVs these days, well they suck major because if you move your head while you have the glasses on left or right by leaning your head the "3D effect" will be disabled. So what i think about 3D is that Consumer Electronics corporations want to decrease testing costs so they test it on us and thats what they are doing with the 3D enabled TVs using the glasses. But keep in mind that the 3D in cinemas is totally different and better.

I think you've underestimated the Kinect here. 2011 will bring lots of "harcore" Kinect titles.
And I'm not defending Microsoft blindly, I know they haven't got lots on the table for 2011, that is why I am waiting whether they have some tricks under their sleeves or not.

Yeah Kareem, I told you before that I wasn't impressed with 3D either, particularly Gran Turismo 5 where it appear to have implemented the feature in a way to make use of the “it only does everything” marketing campaign.

However, I've read somewhere that Motorstorm 3D seems to have been built from the ground up to make good use of 3D, the feature looked quite impressive, unlike GT5 with some of it’s mashed options. But still, compared to kinect, imo it’s a free feature, if you have a 3D-TV then good for you, if not then that’s ok, you can still enjoy games/movies on the good old HD-TV.

By the way, 3D is still an early technology, and possibly what we have now in 2010-2011, is the low-end quality of 3D. Toshiba are bringing some impressive 3D TV’s in 2012, you don’t even have to wear stupid glasses, they showcased 55-inch 3D TVs running Final Fantasy XIII cutscenes in 3D, they displayed them early this month in CES’11. And people who attended say they were simply blown away with the quality of the technology, even Toshiba claimed that media/games shouldn’t be necessarily developed from the ground-up to be viewed in 3D, the TV itself up-converts the signal into 3D.

@ kareem, yes i don't know how to make a link that's why am copying all over. as for the article on what that dude want from ps4, that dude got hammered by the comments he got from people and i agree with them.

@ 3D i do agree that on GT5 it was just an added effect at the end of development. BUT i kinda feel that people are having split personalities regarding the 3D gaming thingy, while a huge majority of gamers nag and blab that 3D is a waste or unimportant or whatever, then when one of those gamers gets hold of a 3D TV or whatever he becomes Pro 3d. so is it just like sour grapes?!?!?! i mean if a game is just great, what's the harm if 3d i added to the equation and promoted. has any one tried 3d+psmove together in a game, i did and the experience is epic.

btw the 3d in cinemas is "technically better" if you move your head it doesn't screw up as much, but i honestly believe from my personal experience that the 3D effect itself is superior in quality when playing games in 3d on TV. imagine this: company of heroes (or another game of choice), 1080p, 3d, full graphics. I've never seen anything like it in the cinemas.

in other news than my complaining, Killzone 3 is going open Beta on February 2nd and 3rd depending on region. i'll edit a link once kareem tells me how to do it.

You mean the PC but i wont comment about that first because i never tried 3D using a PC and second because of course it would be better on brand new enthusiast GPU.
