Let this thread be for strategy games and as we all know we have monsters here that are too old everyone knows them. C&C series(no introduction here), Blizzard's(Activision) Starcraft and Warcraft series(no introduction here too), etc.
These are maybe the most known games for this decade or even more years to come know that Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty is going to be released this year.
So what do you think? What is your favorite Strategy game(sub-genres included)?
When i saw strategy guide in the title i thought it was a strategy guide about a game. I think the thread could be named " The RTS thread" or something.

Anyways, my favorite strategy game is Total Annihilation. Not alot of people heard about this game but most people might know its spiritual successor Supreme Commander.

It won over 57 awards including
-GameSpot's Game of the Year Award for 1997.
-It won Gamespy's Top Ten Real-Time Strategy Games of All Time in 2004, leaving StarCraft in second place.
-It was also named to Gamespot's 50-game The Greatest Games of All Time list
etc...

There are many sub-genres for strategy game and Real-time is one of them that's why i called it Strategy to include them all.

Chris Taylor is the designer so it is the main reason.
C&C Generals , zero hour
No comments it was one of the C&C games. :)

When i first played SC in 1998(the same year it was released) in internet cafes i didn't do anything because the controls are different you can move a char using the right click so i used the GUI to navigate.(lol)
My favorite faction in SC was Protoss... FOR ADUUN
Generals and Zero Hour=China
C&C series (Nod and GDI) all factions are great.
Red Alert 3=Imperials (aka Japan)

+1
Add Red Alert 2. I reached a point in the past where i became unbeatable. Now, i forgot all the tricks.
Any RA2 game soon, I'd love that.

*hmfff... Old Days.

I was commenting on the word "guide" strategy guide means a walkthrough for a game or something similar. I thought you were making a walkthrough :P but anyways nevermind that.

Exactly. It has the same gameplay mechanics and the same resource system.
I used to challenge a Saudi guy who was addicted to RA2 and he beats me in under 5 minutes.
You will see swarms of tanks all over your base by that time:P it was really embarrassing.
