me too big improvements, now my speed is stable and i'm getting 512kbs all the time and a real double speed at night.
before it was good but sometimes it used to get slow 3 times a week or more.

اجرت وزارة الاتصالات استدراج عروض لتلزيم حلقات اتصال لربط المراكز الهاتفية كافة بواسطة شبكة الياف ضوئية في مختلف المناطق اللبنانية، بناء على تقسيم جغرافي الى مجموعتين.

جرى سحب 43 ملفا، وتم قبول 14 عرضا هي التي قُدّمت ضمن المهلة المحددة لتقديم العروض، اي الثانية عشرة ظهر الاربعاء في الخامس عشر من ايلول.

عند الاولى من بعد ظهر يوم امس الخميس في السادس عشر من ايلول، عقدت اللجنة المكلفة فض العروض، اجتماعا استمر حتى الثانية عشرة منتصف الليل، انهت في خلاله فض العروض الادارية والفنية، فقُبلت 6 شركات تقدمت الى المجموعتين، و3 شركات الى المجموعة الاولى، وشركة واحدة الى المجموعة الثانية.
وعند التاسعة والنصف من صباح اليوم الجمعة، عادت اللجنة الى الاجتماع، وفضّت العروض المالية.

وبنتيجة درس مختلف العروض، تبين ان عرضيّ شركة الاتحاد للهندسة والتجارة CET مع شركة الكاتيل لوسنت، استوفيا الشروط الادارية والفنية وأتيا بالسعر الادنى لكل من المجموعتين، أي 20 مليون و562 الفا دولار اميركي للمجموعة الشمالية، و19 مليون و635 الف دولار اميركي للمجموعة الجنوبية.

وعليه تكون وزارة الاتصالات قد اطلقت المرحلة الاولى من مشروع الحزمة العريضة BroadBand الوطنية بكلفة تقارب 40 مليون دولار اميركي، وهي تستعد لاطلاق المراحل التالية تباعا من تجهيزات ومقسمات ذكية توفر للبنانيين في مساكنهم ومؤسساتهم شروط الخدمة التي طال انتظارهم لها، والتي تنقل لبنان الى مصاف الدول الاكثر تقدما في مجال الاتصالات والمعلوماتية واقتصاد المعرفة، ترجمة لالتزامات حكومة الوحدة الوطنية في بيانها الوزاري، ولُبنة اولى في تنفيذ خطة الوزارة في هيكلة قطاع الاتصالات والمعلومات.

That's what I'm thinking, elchebib =D I just started with SODETEL two days ago for 512K, and so far it is a massive disappointment.

i'm with Sodetel and my dl speed is always over 60KB/s and at night it is most of the time around 110KB/s , youtube opens very fast, and the upload is decent compared to what we have here in leb, i have uploaded a whole ABBA album (150MBapprox) last day in less than 35 min .

and this does not happen once or twice a month, but it's starting to be stable each time i test my speed it is between 0.45 and 0.51 Mb in the day and between 0.65 and 0.89 Mb at night.
Before it used to be 0.35 most of the time during the day and sometimes at night it used to get real slow, but this ain't happening anymore.

and i'm with sodetel and our central is : Badaro

I can confirm the above, I've been with them for like 6 months? i don't remember..and the service is great and more important the latency is very good (please note that I don't download anything after midnight so I didn't get FUPed)

Because so far, the speed on my "512k" is no step up from my VISP 256k all-you-can-eat.

I noticed today an improvement in the latency, it was ~130 ms to bbc.co.uk, today it was ~93 ms.
from tracert, i noticed that the improvement is on the first Hop after the dsl router, that's mean between my home and ISP Gateway.

I've been getting very connections with MW2 online on my PS3. Yellow bars all the time and 3 green bars some of the times which is great. No lag or stuttering during play and I'm with IDM 512 (FUP'ed).

I won't call it an improvement since youtube viewing and the speedtest.net results are still crap, but at least my online play is improved.

My double-speed at night has been nuked thanks to FUP many months ago. Improvement in my online play seems to be related to the latency. However, testing latency on speedtest.net comes back with horrendous results (400+ ms).

512 connection speeds are enough for a smooth online session. Its the ping times that we should be worried about in Lebanon. When you have good ping times, you'll have a very fun online gaming session. And that's what I've been experiencing since a while back.
I don't know if this related to any changes in the infrastructure. I just hope that our connections keep getting better and better.

Try testing your ping in pingtest.net, because I noticed when I do a speedtest it also gives 400+ ms and when I test my ping in pingtest.net it gives a max of 200ms, and I advise you to do the test at about 9pm because I noticed that your ping is better at night (I know that from playing mw2 with you) so your latency might be the same as mine: good at weekends and other days it's good at night only.

Actually i always get two bars in cod on PS3
so that means we all are lagging but it s minor we cant see it or feel it
you just feel it knife-ing heads up
but i don't mind three bars.

All legitimate ISPs get their pipe from Ogero. (Except VISP I think)

Upload usually must go through Ogero. Terranet, and probably other ISPs had a satellite connection (but I don't know if it was bidirectional or only download). The situation might have changed.
VISP are very different then other ISPs (IMHO) and I consider them like a special case.
I think you need a license to bypass Ogero, and these license aren't being granted, I think.

guys, I'm with wise 256kb/s and I've been noticing an improvement on my internet speed as well, before when I would download something it would usually download between 18 kbps~22 kbps but lately my download speed is at a constant 26 kbps and it stays like that it never ever drops less then 25.8 kbps !
