  • SeisMac... Use your MacBook as a sismograph

I came across this good quality software yesterday, it is called SeisMac, and I installed it on my old MacBook, not really expecting it to work, but it did!
I was amazed by the precision of the built in motion detector. If you have a MacBook (or MB Pro) give it a try. It's pretty cool.

why does the mac have a motion sensor built in , weird .

It is used to detect when the laptop is falling and park the hard drive head to minimize damage.
It is a precise device though, and it is a pity they don't use it as input device too.
Some other laptops have similar systems.
