One of my friends upgraded his iphone 3g to version 3.1 through Itunes. So he lost everything on the iphone including jailbreak and most importantly the phone is now locked.
PLUS his Bootloader Version is now 05.09 so using Fuzzyband is not an option.

I found a way to downgrade to version 3.0. At least now the phone is jailbroken. And he can use it as an expensive IPOD touch.

I searched for a solution to unlock the phone, and there is no way to do it. (Software solutions)

So the next step is to use Sim card adapters.
But the question is would it work ?
And which one to try?
is it 3.1 or 3.1.3 its extremely different cause 3.1.3 til no unlock for this firmware if its 3.1 ill happely post the instructions :)
I would strongly advice against mindlessly jailbreaking your iPhone, because of the appearance of a very obvious vulnerability. Indeed, jailbreaking is mainly the installation of an openSSH server on your iPhone. However what most (if not all) people look over is that the password of the root account of all iphones is known ('alpine' in case you're wondering).

A first worm (Ikee I think) has been discovered that exploits this vulnerability. Just think about it, if you don't know how to modify the root password, don't jailbreak your phone.

PS It goes without saying that unjailbreaked iphones are still safe... for now...

It was a 3.1 but it was downgraded to 3.0 to be able to Jailbreak it.

Thanks for the warning, i heard about that. And as i remember changing the password is not a big hassle.
But first things first...
Unlocking the damn phone is a priority :)
Guys the phone is already "Jailbroken". So we can use the phone to download applications, games etc...
But we cant use it as a phone because it is not "Unlocked", in a sense that it does not accept networks as mtc or alfa.

The problem is the modem Version --> bootloader 5.09, currently the Dev team (Iphone hackers) do not have a solution for unlocking an Iphone with a 5.09.

My question was if i can use a Sim Card Adaptor. You place your real sim card inside another one (there's one called rebel sim) and u place both inside the iphone and it unlocks the phone.

I was wondering if someone resorted to that eventuality of a solution. Because it is the only thing that is left.
Yeah you can use that, it will work. I used to have one when I had my iPhone with firmware 2.0.2. It works fine.

Do you know the name of the sim you used? and where can i get one ?
I don't remember where I got it from, but it was a rebel card, or turbo sim.
