Aj_BlaZ wrote@rolf hes booting with a live cd so i guess he does'nt have that option ;)
He always has this option after some work / effort / money expenditure / etc. and in my opinion it is the best option.
He only needs one hard drive to install the recovery software and save the recovered data.
If he wants to recover/rewrite the boot sector, good luck. Been there, and I gave up myself.
he will need to reinstall all OSses but this way he can keep his data.
If there is some software he cannot reinstall, there is a chance of "copying" it by copying the right folder in Program Files, his profile, and registry keys. It takes work but it can work if really necessary.
BTW, is gparted compatible with Windows 7 partitions?
My experience with partitions is: either get it right the first time (on install), or dont touch them :)
Dont move partitions around, it is horribly slow, dangerous, buggy, and not clearly documented.
Good luck.
