Hi!
I'm in need for someone who has experience in the rendering of a building plan (building interior). Autocad/3DMax or any equivalent technology...
sys-halt
hey rolf, can you please explain more, my bro knows AutoCAD maybe he will be able to help you, tell me the idea and I will check with him.
rolf
I am working on a Autocad plan, and need a good 3d rendering.
What still needs to be done is grow objects in volume, maybe add some furniture, and then do the lighting, materials, and final rendering.
It's a tight deadline :)

I just don't understand how you can bare doing "graphical" stuff!
Padre
hahaha, what exactly do u need to know ? worked on different 3D projects (Architectural) on 3DSMax using MRay and Vray.
Padre
oh ... u need someone to do the actual 3D Model and renders :P
if that's the case, send me the details and requirements along with the deadlines :D
rolf
It's for a college project (franky), and the deadline is tomorrow, 5pm.
It's alright, I am doing well in Autocad. It's easier then I thought. It would be nice to render in 3Dmax though, I know textures and lights look better. Let me know if it's possible!
(It's a lobby)
Padre
doable ..... but tomorow 5pm ..... WTF man !!!!
still send me the details, i'll see what i can do :D
How many renders do u need ? Pic size ? complexity ? send me the plans / whatever u need to be done
Padre
guess ur not really interested anymore :P

Padre, ever tried Google Sketchup or Blender? Personally I haven't... I've only tried 3ds Max, and I loved it. I might also try AutoCad, but isn't AutoCad more for architecture work than 3d modeling and stuff like that?
rolf
Hello :)
I was interested, but still doing the 3d modeling.
Right now we're adding the lights (or rather trying to), and we'll render in Autocad, since we dont have time for anything else :)
What do you think?
Padre
i thought u needed someone to give u a hand, and i was willing. hope u made it on time :D
Well ... i tried Blender couple of times ... nice and fast, but i liked Max more.
As for AutoCad, it has more "precision" if u want. if you are building an architectural project, u cannot not pass by AutoCad. at least the general area divisions, roads, etc etc ....
You can build 3D in Autocad quite easily and import into max, but i dont really recommend that, the overhead is huge and u can really notice the difference once the project gets a bit big.
Padre
btw, what are u rendering with ?
rolf
rendering with autocad.. trying to.
We finally submitted the project without rendered images, just "artistic impressions"...
:(
I dont have 3DMax installed yet, BTW. Autocad can render OK, but the materials look "plastiky", they all look like plastic or wax. But there are some plugins which can make them look good.
Thanks for the tips, ill look into them. I kinda like 3d and CAD stuff, and I just realised that it's not as hard as i thought, coming from a programming background. During my research I found one named "rhino3d" if I recall well, and it looked good.
I am right now on the lookout for an alternative to autocad.
BTW thanks for offering your help :) i'm glad you did.
