Great, that makes things a lot easier for me, can I get these at Electronic stores such as Abed Tahan?
Hey,

I know it's a lot to ask, but I was hoping someone could help me out with this, I have no idea what I'm looking for. Is there anyway someone can go to ebay.co.uk and search for these two items and send me the link, that way I know i'm buying the right thing, If I get it off there, it works out a lot cheaper for me. Thank you so much in advance.

PS the items are as Samer said,

Mini display port (apple laptop) <---> Mini DVI (or DVI) <----> HDMI (TV)
samer wroteAj_BlaZ, keep in mind that if ijanawra will probably need a Mini display port to HDMI and not mini DVI. All the new apple laptops come with mini display port and not mini DVI.

Now the problem is that there isn't a direct cable that supports both audio and video (audio is usually not supported), so she will need to do the following:

Mini display port (apple laptop) <---> Mini DVI (or DVI) <----> HDMI (TV)
that's weird first you said no need for mini dvi to hdmi and then you said she needs two cables the other one is mini dvi to hdmi i don't get the idea ???
@ijanawra can you please tell us the model of your mac
Macbook Pro 15" Late 2009, basically the latest model
So i can use just one (Audio + Video)? Or do I have to have both?

Theoretically, she wouldn't need one; but practically she does since, as far as I know, there isn't a direct cable that supports both audio and video (notice that I explained all that in my original post).

ijanawra, the bottom line is that you need two cables for this to work
(1) Mini display port (apple laptop) <---> Mini DVI (or DVI)
(2) Mini DVI (or DVI) <----> HDMI

Make sure both cables match; i.e., if you chose DVI in (1) match it in (2) by also getting DVI.

(1) looks like this:

(2) looks like that:
@ijanawra Samer's post will work 100% go for it :)
#1 costs around $40 in lebanon (bought one myself)
why VGA i thought you wanna hook it via HDMI port ?
Lol I told you I needed help...Ok so I'll try again
there's Big difference between mini dvi and dvi (from the name i guess) so these two links wont help , you need DVI to HDMI
Ok I think I finally got it, if I haven't, I give up!!

So, the idea is that I connect the Mini DisplayPort to DVI (rather than MINI DVI) and then DVI (rather than MINI DVI) to HDMI? If I'm wrong, don't even bother trying to explain, I think it'll be useless!

i hope it works well for you, but if you need more info, i can help cause i am a Mac user, and i have already done everything ur asking about now.I hope the other guys were helpful, but you really dont need ebay, its only two cables ur looking for and u can find one at iStyle in Bliss street, and the other cable at Radioshack in Hamra, and get the hdmi instead of vga, unless u dont need hdmi, but after experience if u use hdmi from a mac to an HD lcd or plasma you will fall in love again.

and if you are still looking for free softwares or games for mac and u need them cracked, you can go the hard torrent way, or pay 12$ and get them all; here is what i did: i bought a 1month subscription from Rapidshare, and then i got hundreds of softwares for free from it such as microsoft office 2009, and iWork, Toast 10, Sims 3, and many more.

if you still need help after reading the news letter i wrote, just ask.
Hi Hamboza,

Thanks a lot for your kind offer :) Firstly, I only bought them off eBay because they're cheaper there, I got both for $20, and I get it shipped to my UK address.

Secondly, the downloading issue, thats exactly what I did before I moved to Lebanon, in Morocco, I was downloading at 400kb/s! So I joined Rapidshare for a month before I left, and got most of the stuff I needed, but my Mac was new then, so I didn't get all of the things I needed, but my husband is still there, so he's downloaded the rest for me :)

I just want to ask you, whats your download speed? Here in Lebanon the max I get is 30kb/s, it's exhausting...it must take a really long time to download those programs like Sims 3, my Sims 3 was 5GB...
