kareem_nasser wrotewhen i was using torrents for the first time there was an error and the test indicates that i have not opened the ports eventhough i did; i am with IDM and router is Speedtouch 546v6(i).
Opening ports in IDM's modems is useless. I have tried countless times to do that and it didn't work.
The only way I've found that gives you an open NAT is to do the following:
Put your IDM modem in bridge mode.
Attach a router to the modem and use the router's settings to sign in using your PPPoE username and password (L######@idm.net.lb).
Make sure that your router has its firewall and NAT protection turned off.
You can then use the internet with an open NAT.
Trust me, this is the only way with IDM apart from paying more to get a public IP address. Don't try to call them because they'll end up saying that all their ports are open and nobody knows the meaning of NAT.
