that would lead to the neglect of the originally catastrophic network situation , and creating another !
I know you have something against wireless networks jad. Microwave wireless connections are much less obtrusive and don't pollute a lot of the space.
I am interested particularly in wireless because it seems to be the cheapest and the least to be controlled by maligned agencies.
Thats a nice idea but i think most of our traffic is global little bit inside Lebanon just calculate the ratio of local\global use of internet
local-local connection is never-the-less extremely valuable, at least for the businesses with multiple branches, people who want to network for games or telecommute.
my relative is working as network administrator for the customs(jamerek) they have made a wireless wan along the border check points for a very small network bandwidth my relative it costs a lot especially for the main problem any networker would face in Lebanon THEFT OF ACCESS POINTS
but my opinion that after few years the Lebanese local internet business will spread then your idea will be a great solution and remember the Lebanese proverb:(when there is money there is a will)
Well I wanted ideas for making it much more cost effective and much more scalable. This could easily be a genuine university research. It could be applied between two campuses for example.
arithma this country is evolving step by step (very slowly) if you want to take full step forward we need a miracle :p
Who is evolving the country? There must be someone doing the evolving. Leave it up to the big guys, and here we are: Lebanon. There's nothing stopping us from changing the facts, except maybe us.
I am in favor of liberlization of telecommunications, in any form.
Spread the idea; I don't intend to monetize the idea or use it commercially. It's just the effects it may have. I am an advocate of sharing ideas. Perhaps someday I'll have a butterfly effect [wing flap of a butterfly creating a storm].
