- CD/DVD Burning Tool K3b and Brasero no real preference. Used upon availability.
- Audio/Video Trimmer/Converter/etc. Kdenlive, Avidemux
- Programming Tools vim, gcc, g++, gdb, eclipse.

Depends on what you're looking for. If you want professional quality stuff, you'd be better off with something from Adobe. But if you want to do regular stuff it fits perfectly. Plus it's a great way to get introduced to video editing. My exact feeling is: it might be not as good as Adobe shit or Sony Vega pro, but you still have a decent software that is definitely better than Windows Movie Maker.

The idea that GNU/Linux software are more difficult to use than Windows' might have been true in the past, but any linux user will confirm things have changed. All the apps I cited, are easier and more intuitive than their Windows equivalent. Now I choose to use some command line tools like gzip or vim, but needless to say you find equivalents with easy and intuitive GUI. But the best way is still for you to try and decide by yourself what suits
you the most.
