Yes you are right, but the prices make then uninteresting for private use (check nuclearcat's reply).
But satellite internet creates a price ceiling for internet prices in lebanon. ISPs can get bidirectional satellite material, maybe camouflage them if they have no license, and then redistribute internet.
In other words if there was no satellite technology I think we might be paying even more for internet.
