256 is a bit slow for online play. You need at least a 512 connection to be able to play online. The download and upload rates of a 256 connection aren't enough for a smooth online play.
Bloody hell it didn't work.
First, my router CAN'T set up DMZ on the PS3, I've searched and searched and every unlucky lad with this router had the same problem.
Then, I noticed on my PS3 (before messing with the router) : NAT : Type 3.
Once again, I did some research, and yes, it's the bloody damn router Terranet gave me.

FIFA works just fine (not the smoothest of online plays, but it's barely playable), and I've been playing CODMW1 online on PC for ages, so it's basically a CODMW2 (PS3) issue.

My router just won't allow me to kick some arse online.

Hmmm thought so. Seriously want kind of country in 2010 is still unable to get at least "512" cnxs to homes. Like WTF.

Ok dude I've done some research and you are right, there is no DMZ support on that thompson router.
But there is something called Transparent Public IP Address Pass-Through and basically its the same as DMZ.
Here's the link http://www.speedtouch.net.nz/500PublicIPpassthrough_R4.3.htm
The user interface is from another router but i read somewhere that its the same for the 585 speedtouch model.

One more thing is that i feel you already saw that. ( just for the fact that you said that the ps3 is not listed in the devices!!!) but try turning on the ps3 and sign in to your psn and afterwards login to your router.

perfect? lol
I had the same prob with my ps2 but i assigned an IP for it and the settings on ps2 are all auto-detect but for the DNS host name is "idm.net.lb" and it all worked correctly but i have router Speedtouch 546v6 i.
yeah the IP i assigned was first on the router of course.

Actually there's a DMZ option on TG585v7, but it won't help (at least not for me).

Just assign an automatic IP on your PS3 network setting (not a static IP). Then enter this page:
http://192.168.1.254/cgi/b/publicip/cfg/?be=0&l0=3&l1=0&tid=ASSIGN_PUBL_ADDR
you'll find ur PS3 listed there...(p.s. use a WIRED connection).

Now on your PS3, test the connection..and here you go..

But as I said, this won't help...at least not for me(Cyberia 512).

I'll be switching to Ogero this month...

Yeah, does not work.

Guess I'll get back to my PC, now that the new STALKER and Bioshock 2 are out.

Thanks everyone for the help though

Hey guys, does anyone else have the problem of getting stuck on Fetching Playlists... using Cyberia DSL?

It was working fine up to about 5 days ago and now won't go past the online status screen.

Thanks!

Nope, working fine on my IDM 512 DSL.....
What's you NAT type?
I'm asking specifically for Cyberia users, as others I know on other ISP's are not having this problem. Nat Type 2 and on DMZ, ports open but UPNP not available. Thanks.

You're welcome...
Did you wait it out? I mean, from time to time, it does happen to me that I get stuck in the Fetching Playlists screen. I tried several things:
I waited for shee 5 minutes and sometimes it did work.
I deleted the game data (not the save data) and then installed it again.
I also tried switching the modem off and on to change the IP that I'm on.
The worst that happened to me was to not play the game for several days and then try again later.

Hope it works for you
Good luck :D
Hey dude, yeah I used to do all the steps you've done a while back but it never used to get stuck this long, funnily enough this morning I did wait it out and it went through in under 15min. Scared to sign out and then have it not connect again.

It's just a recent thing, might try to up my connection with cyberia temporarily to test and see if that makes any difference as their support like all other ISP's is balls.

Thanks for your help in any case! I'm still curious to know if other cyberia users are getting stuck lately.
Here's an update:

Cyberia upped my connection to 1Mb but that still didn't help. Then after bonding with the support team, by phone and email over the last few days, we finally solved the problem this morning and it's working flawlessly now.

Seems they had some ports being requested besides all those ports being mentioned everywhere in cyberspace.

Moral of the story, if you find yourself getting stuck on the fetching playlists page and have tried everything there is to possibly try to resolve it, you'll need to escalate it on the ISP level to get things running smoothly.

Hope this helps anyone else having these issues!

Peace!
Hey, sent u a PM in reply to your PM!
One more thing: tell them you want to play ps3 online so to have them add you to the "PS3" pool—whatever the fuck that is!
