Can anyone help me installing Linux on ps3?
I found a tutorial but I did not have the time to check it.
I want a fast way, can anyone help?
No such thing as a fast way. You have to download an iso (I recommend Yellow Dog), burn it to a CD/DVD, backup your data, format your HDD, install Linux (if I'm not mistaken, Sony's OS has an "install other OS" feature).

For more details, read the tutorial you found.
Im just curious, why would you even think about doing that ?
I understand that installing it on a PS2 could be verryyy advantageous, but why on a Ps3 ? Sony's OS has almost everything u want on ure tv ?
ps2 ! check ps2 specs and review your post :)
The PS3 has 7 PowerPC 3.2Ghz Processors and 7*256KB of RAM to say the least. With Wifi, bluetooth, ethernet communication and BlueRay reader, you've got yourself a cheap (~400$) super computer. Why would you want to install Linux on such a computer??!! Good question!
It is not supercomputer. Generic OS will be slow there, this 3.2 Ghz doesn't work well as x86.
But SPU-units (if i am not wrong in name) makes games fast.

Linux install on ps3 is not trivial, since not much people need it. If you need it - you should spend time installing it.
the PS3 uses RISC CPU's known to be faster for graphics bad for normal operations and calculations .

edit : cheap as well

But wasn't Linux perfectly ported to PowerPC?
15 days later
But the "Other OS" feature limits the OS's access to the system .. so don't expect to be running games through linux any time soon (or ever it seems !!!)
on the contrary ;) the RISC CPUs are known for there graphics capability and specially used in gaming consoles for this reason :)

was that addressed towards me ?
Well interesting article: the US department of defense ordering 2200 Sony PS3 to use as supercomputers and cutting cost. Check it out.
wow this is cool , US army super computer : PS3 :p
and in the same time they are using Xbox 360 Controllers for some of their robots
Consoles are getting more and more used for diverse usage. Complex as they're getting, they are no mere toys anymore. You'd be amazed to see how much projects at school use them. The Wiimote in particular is very popular.
