I tried to get into it several times since the beta days, but it was weird and had an ugly UI.
I now play project cars and dirt rally from time to time
UI is pretty good. I don't like very complex and fancy UI for the sake of better FPS. Drifting in assetto corsa is kinda realistic and massively fun. I can spend hours drifting a supra/s13/180sx dspec; them tubro sounds are just bananas. it is difficult and has a learning curve. you could start easy with 270 degrees on the wheel then work your way up to 540, 720, then full 900.
assetto supports tons of mods from the community. basically if you want a specific car, there is a high chance of finding it online. you can also request it and hope someone make it happen.
project cars is great in its own way. i think it is a more challenging when it comes to the races. in assetto corsa, no one cares (well most) about racing stats. everyone is there to have fun. project cars is way too serious; which might remove the fun factor sometimes.
drifting in project cars is impossible. the game engine is not made for it. assetto is darn awesome and i prefer it over LFS.
