ok guys today i aplyed to the wifi internet at my uni (AUST) , and they expect it will be turned on this afternoon however i guess im limited to some websites fortunately lebgeeks is one of them :D / the way to connect to there internet , is thru a proxie specified by windows internet explorer ( at this point i wanted to shout at the IT guy ):o microsoft internet explorer:o so guys is there a way of your knowlege to bypass this block and access another proxie or whatever :( i had in mind to set up tor by vidalia to route my internet outside there network but since im forced to enter there proxie i guess it will not be possible :o nither by online proxie sites ( i guess ) i will try it later on . so what is your stance on this case any solution you can think of ?? :D primary concern is to enter facebook and sign into msn :P so i can have some fun in my 2 hours break and i still know no one there :D

So I understand that you are connecting through an automatic proxy configuration script. You can download the script and read it with wordpad.. next if you get the ip address of the proxy server, you can install ultrasurf 9.5 ( my favorite ) and the rest is easy. gdluck..
J4D
the ip adress of the proxie server is 192.168.5.2 / i will try ultrasurf and give you guys my feedback / also if you guys have another solution tell me in case kareems plan did not work on the aust network :D

It gotta work :)
Kareem
SO did that work ?
J4D
i did not try today , i was never connected on the network :( but now i will download the program and simulate a block on my home network and test it :D thanks for the effort kareem :D BTW : does this program operate on the whole connection meaning can i access msn ? even if they blocked the ports ? :|
Kareem
Yeah you can ( use proxifier my favorite software). If it is not connecting for whatever the reason is ( make sure you have set the proxy address in ultrasurf) there is another thing ive done at work.. install Hamachi on both computer and home and at work and CCProxy on your home PC. Your PC will act as a proxy + socks server ;)

thats nice ! but unfortunately the laptop im taking to uni is my only computer . so i need both proxifier and ultra surf so the opperation would work ? and what are the chances of it succeeding on a network created by IT doctors :P

You should set some rules. You can go to proxifier in start menu and remove settings ( it will unregister some dlls in the LSP ) then reconfigure when you need.. Mouse click dude.

You can try yourfreedom to bypass regular application traffic. And a combination of yourfreedom and freecap for any other application. That's how I used to play wow at AUB.

Rules are to be kept, crazy, not broken, aren't they? And kept by everyone

nooo , geeks deprived of free access to the internet will do their best to bypass firewalls and blocks .

Hehe teo :) Rules can be broken when they do not lead to chaos... play a bit of wow on the university's internet, I don't think will cause illegal chinese immigrant to come farm in wow using the university's internet :)
But hey, its nice of you to take something from another topic and put it here :)
teodorgeorgiev
A typically Lebanese sh*t-ass excuse :)
1. It is not you to decide what rule could be broke and what not.
2. Yes, it can lead to haos. When people see you doing this, they will go for the same, and the Uni will
turn into a WoW guild... ...
J4D
they don't know how for starters and i don't think i or anyone else has time for the hordes ;)
crazy
@teo: I am not deciding what rule can or cannot be broken. And if you think I was doing raids at uni.. think again.
But yes, you are right, this is a typical sh*t-ass excuse, and I am sorry for that.. everywhere you go in lebanon its like that, its sad, but hey I am trying to change :)
Once again teo, you cannot tell me that there isn't rules that you can break without a real consequence. For instance this wow thingy, once you passed the 750mb quota per month, if it was wow traffic or web, or anything else, you get cut off from the internet, so imposing proxies is just to stop non-geeky fellow that will know how to bypass it (which is not a crime :) at least in our university bylaws, there wasn't anything concerning that).
