the way i see it, for rocketry, it's more fun to work with something actually usable. as a start, water rockets are quiet cool and damn cheap. enno you can do a multi stage water rocket that will reach 600+ meters, take pictures from there, and land safely. and what will it cost? few plastic bottles, water, some plumbing stuff for the launching station?

you mean the budget of the to be proposed project ?? , well i dont know i guess its proportional to the project , once we decide on what to do ;) I LIKE THIS (Money is easy to get in the equation of Money vs Know-how)

up to 10k - 20k : doable - if u gurantee it reaches :P
more than this , not sure - will have to think about it
now it is winter... donno if the water rocket thing will work.. it will be hard to experiment and observe.. no ?

i do not like water related things messy and we need water LOL , and a rocket naaah not really interesting at least in my opinion :D i guess we can start with a small bot that we control using a computer wirelessly and we can program it thruoe the computer to do whatever we want ( basically motion only ) with built in sensors and all relaying info back to the computer ? i guess its feasible requires the programing side in you and as well as some handy work and electronics work fun fun fun ??

don't take water rocketing that litely. basic model are a bit dull yes, just a bottle, fill it with water, build up the pressure, and it flies.
but more complex models are much more interesting. it's engineering + electronics + coding + art, ... more advanced models have onboard chips and sensors, calculate pressure, altitude, g-force, ... transmit real time info about all these to your computer while in flight, use servo motors to take certain actions based on the feed from the different sensors, launch the parachute at the exact correct time also based on altitude, pressure, ...
and the pictures and video you can take from up there can really be nice...
J4D
its my opinion and you cant change it :P , i dont deny its nice but i guess we should do something even better :)

im still for the garbage collecting robot ...
you asked for a challenge, there is a challenge, as for looking after the "trotter" well that is another subject, it just would be handy if a robot could have arms that extend to a radius of 3m in a fast manner collecting garbage.

well ok im in on watever you deside guys ;) i dont care talama fee work to be done :D

Start from something simple. Don't make napoleon plans :-)
First project IMHO big RC car with some wireless router onboard with USB + USB webcam.
GPIO from router should be wired to RC control.

in a year or 2 you'll be able to put a satellite for 8k (if they stay on track with their project and budget and all). r u in? :P
