it's not getting trashed by the press in general, it's getting mixed reviews. some are giving it near perfect ratings, some are not.
and why to imagine FF7 without towns? this is not FF7...

anyways, whatever the reviews are, i doubt it will affect much the sales. people will still buy it.
If it doesn't have towns but you know most of us like FF franchise for its story and theme and a bit for the design......also Versus is gonna be mysterious a bit with a dark background.

Maz7006 wroteanyway, as a small side note it seems that FF13 will be mostly videos, 32GB worth to be exact... no wonder this is gonna be 3 discs for 360 :P
well, would it be a final fantasy if it didn't have lots of cinematic?
Here is the drill: PS3's bluray carries more uncompressed textures and audio to the 50GB range at 54megabits/sec which is enough (may be) and 1080p cinematic but in this case most of the space is taken by 1080p cinematic but the main concept will be implemented in the future like on 500GB bluray which will significantly decrease the load of the RSX (this shows the power of the Xenos).
and they are talking about some downloadable contents too to be able to play the game .
Well most developers and publishers when interviewed would say that having HDD in current gen systems is their best feature.

Yes, I had also seen the demo but not played, but I am eagerly waiting for its released. I had heard that it has a wonderful graphic and game play. As I had played all other series I hope it will also delivered the same.

Final Fantasy XIII is the outside world a little over a month now and even if the audit results, the lowest numbered Final Fantasy title to date, managed to move 1,322,500 copies in the U.S. alone. Sony announced today that 200 of these 828 units sold on PS3 and 494 300 copies sold for Xbox 360. Square multi-channel tactics proved incredibly powerful sales of Xbox 360 to expand the audience of more than 50%. This can be compared to FFXII launch in the U.S. in 2006 when 896,000 copies were sold during the first month.
