mir Hello guys, This question will sound lame , but what ftp software do you use to manage the files on your hosting my focus was first to just find the smallest thing and use it to simply upload files, my concerns didn't include browsing the remote folder, copying files and directories to each others and such now i am using filezilla.. but there is no easy way to navigate and browse and manipulate and copy ur files so... what do u guys use when u want to browse and manage, not just upload :) thanks for the feedback it is worth a million marketing sheet :P
Joe You should try FireFTP which is an extension for Firefox. I used it for a while before eventually going back to Filezilla. But if you're looking into managing files and browsing, maybe you should try connecting to your server using an SSH connexion. PuTTY works wonders especially if your server runs linux. PS I hear that Cyberduck is great. It only runs on mac however.
samer I use Transmit (mac only) for SFTP, it supports FTP, WebDAV and amazon S3. www.panic.com/transmit
rolf Either WinSCP or Filezilla Client You can also download Filezilla Server, its a good free FTP server. WinSCP is the standard to transfer files between a linux and windows machine through SSH, but it also supports FTP and has a nice interface. Filezlla is an up-to-date FTP client with queing, resume and other features (but WinSCP also has these features). both free of course
