  • iPhone / iPod Touch Jailbreak-only apps

Hello all,

I jailbreaked (broke?) my 2nd generation iPod Touch today (redsn0w was not that stable until now). I was looking for some nice apps to install from Cydia. so far, here's what I have:

– nmap (good old nmap)
– netcat (simple socket manipulation tool)
– openSSH (SSH server)
– Flashlight (better than that off the AppStore)
– MxTube (download and/or stream youtube videos)
– BossPrefs (services/settings app replacement)
– Bash (terminal)
– Winterboard (custom themes and icons)
– Safari Download plug-in
– wget (CLI download manager)

Any other cool apps I missed?

Karim, it's totally worth it.
Also, a complete restore would leave no trace of jailbreaking :)
here is were you are wrong
i can detect an ipod or an iphone (unlocked, jailbroken)even if it has been restored
i personally unlocked my ipod touch but only after the warranty has expired
then went back to the original .ipsw
app store (itunes) is more than worth it even if you don't want pay money there is lots of stuff that are handy
cydia and instaler had there role once, when the app store was not around
but now i find it not necessary to unlock it, jailbreak it
