yop yop!

I made today a discovery (at least it was something new for me...) and thought of sharing it with you guys. It is a linux distribution (Back tracker) which consist of quoting the website:
BackTrack is the result of merging the two innovative penetration testing live linux distributions Auditor and Whax. Backtrack provides a thorough pentesting environment which is bootable via CD, USB or the network (PXE). The tools are arranged in an intuitive manner, and cover most of the attack vectors. Complex environments are simplified, such as automatic Kismet configuration, one click Snort setup, precompiled Metasploit lorcon modules, etc. BackTrack has been dubbed the #1 Security Live CD by Insecure.org, and #36 overall.
It seems something interesting I got it now running on my laptop, though it is a live cd, I think it can be installed directly to run more smoothly on the computer.

If anyone had previous experience with it, maybe he/she (any other girl that manifest herself other than mir??) would care to share his wisdom with us.

It looks like a distribution that makes life easier for hackers/crackers/security people, but hey looks can be deceiving:)

The website is www[dot]remote[dash]exploit[dot]org if you wana download and test it for yourself.

Enjoy:)

Crazy
Yeah I have errr....*some*.... expperience with BackTrack :) It is kinda good, but it didn't have the driviers for my wireless NIC. So you should probably check the compat list before downloading it. For people interested in wifi/network security linux distributions, there's also Wifislax (based on Slax engine), Nubuntu (based on ubuntu, and the best i've seen so far ), wifiway....
Use everything responsively  and beware that fiddling with your network card could/may/will ruin it :P
and YES it has happened to me.
Have fun :)
BackTrack is nice , since it dosen't only compile a list of tools for use only with wireless, but tons of things to do after you gained access to it :P happy war driving ! ;)
