Noticable improvement on youtube, but online gaming has been unplayable for nearly a month.

online gaming died at 6:30 PM today. still 1000+ ms latency now.

it keeps slowing down after midnight too.
it was ~800ms at 11PM. ~1000ms at 12:30 midnight and 1100+ now.
It looks like congested lines..
Weekend was much better especially saturday

With all respect nuclearcat ... at winter , during the worst weather conditions and at 8 9PM at peak times , me and everyone else was getting 200 and 250ms stable ingame latency , and it stayed like that until may where it began degrading ... i woke up at 1st of june and that's it , been like this since then ... you want me to believe that customers increased by 200% in one night ?? you were able to give us that good latency then , you can now .... congestion, ok it's congestion but congestion means laggy slow internet and unplayable with online games until 3:30am , then the next day at 4PM the same thing beginning all over again ?? why is always VISP links being congested for 16 hours a day ?? why we never hear an IDM user for example facing congested links to the point he feels he want to throw his computer out the window ? my only explanation : " bad and very bad greedy managment".

Thats a proof.
On IDM? Well, i have customer on IDM DSL, good payer and enough big, and i can tell you closer to evening it is becoming difficult to do anything over them. Especially at Friday. I guess it vary from time to time and from place to place, same is for VISP. Somewhere is good, somewhere is congested.

We can make "per GB" accounts with good latency, but we need to change a bit infrastructure for that. Unlimited are shared bandwidth, and there is choice - low bandwidth and perfect latency, or bigger amounts of downloads and congestion, as result poor latency. Majority of people requested amounts, they dont care about latency. And i have to implement first what majority wants.
Sure i can implement things for people with special needs, but right now it is just difficult, i'm stuck with daily routine and endless issues related to lack of proper infrastructure in Lebanon.

P.S. Minister keep promising "next 3 week all ISP get backbone" for each week. We increased FUP based on that and hit a wall because of false promises.
About management, yes, you can be right in some matter. And it is not something i can change fast, and not sure even if i can change, even i'm trying to do so.

Yesterday was actually good. Then suddenly at 12:30AM or something midnight a second outage then connection became bad. It's still bad since then.

It won't drop below 700ms. Two nights ago, it was dipping into the 400s.

Almost no internet for the last four or five hours other than browsing.
No online gaming. I was trying to download an update from [url]ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/[/url] at 5k/sec..
It's getting worse every day..

Perhaps internal infrastructure doesn't handle that much speed?

Hey nuclearcat am a visp subscriber since 2007 i had 2 laptops but the two are dead, what i own right now is an iphone and for me a better choice than a laptop ( a 64 gb ipad 2 ) as u know all of us with smartphones and tablet onwers care about applications and that my problem with VISP
I Have A Jailbroken iPad So I Use Installous for downloading pirated games and apps while sometimes i use app store
my problem began with my internet dealer i said for him that my internet connection is awful and am having 9 kb/s @ 9 PM he said its all about the traffic i said ok ill stay up late and check the speed
that day i didnt sleep actually from the day i owned the ipad i didnt sleep ;) and @3 am i got a speed of 60kb/s
but i think thats unfair i must enjoy a download speed of +100kb/s at this time because i have a 256 account and my other problem that when am downloading a file over 100 mb it stops @ 98 mb ana then it will be corrupted and my wait time will be wasted
I told that to my provider he said you must update your account though i think its unfair to update though i have a 256 account
the sites am downloading from are : www.filedude.com (great) www.fileape.com ( always getyin errors) and www.mediafire.com ( amazing speed not more than 60 kb though )
i hope u can help me ;) and thanks in advance
inaddition am facing problem when downloading big files in itunes the loading line freezes or it notifies me that its unable to download application ;)

My advice to try download at early morning, usually bandwidth free at this time.
Regarding stability - i will work on that today and will see what i can do with that, but this is not easy task yet :-(
Still for big improvements we need new backbone from government.

http downloads are very fast. I managed to view a youtube video at 6PM or 8PM are excellent speed. For me, the only problem is non http stuff and ping stability.
