we understand that you need the IMEWE activated to ISPs to fix this , but let's note that other ISPs don't have IMEWE either ...and yet their customers don't face a stable 2.3kms for more than 14 hours a day , not to mention WLM is not even opening here .. so u have electricity issues or technical issues , but if i were a manager of a company that relies on subscriptions to survive , i would even give up a kidney to give the best i can do to keep my customers happy , not cursing me all day and some of them even leaving my services... so do you guys think a good managing of a buisness leads to me not seeing a green latency in an online application since end of may ? 2 months ? 1pm trying to stream a 36 sec video on 240p , took 15 minutes to stream 17 seconds and then the video cut off ? that's the maximum people can get from VISP ? is that even labeled "service" in the term of internet ? yes lebanon lacks big time in what it comes as telecommunications and internet , but let's see facts : why and as a legal provider of course , VISP became like that ? i'm a happy customer since 2006 , when VISP was in its golden days , why the night of 30th of may i was raiding at ~250ms at 9PM when the whole country is online ? and after that day i can't even play or VOIP or do whatever even at 5AM when everyone is supposed to sleep ? you talk about loyality and not supporting the "thieves" , but don't you think this is too much a customer can handle ?? i'm sorry about this post i had to say what's on my mind , and as you know customer support is no use , had to say it somewhere , but really it won't be too long until i leave to another ISP and rest my mind..

Hey guys im a new member here.
im subscibed to visp in jdeideh. Had amazingly low latency playing wow 2 month ago. but since then the game became unplayable. today my latency ranged from 1200ms to 36000 ms and im not behind a reseller. Shame i've been with visp since 2006. it didnt use to suck like that......
hope things will change very soon...
And a question: doesnt increasing the FUP increase the load on the conx?? i mean since the increase in FUP i cant even open msn without disconnecting every 15 min...

traceroute to game.eternal-lands.com shows a lot better ping that what I'm getting ingame.
Is it because the game uses port 2000?

hussam, you changed network card on computer connecting to account, if it is another mac on new one - call support ,they will reset mac lock.

Hi nuclearcat, I changed network card a few days ago and called visp support to reset the mac address. they said they did that. it worked for two days. now today it stopped working. when I called VISP today, they suggested it is the box on the roof and they said they will send someone on monday (48 hours from now) to check it out.
Do they open their offices tomorrow? maybe I can ask for another mac reset.

regarding box at roof - if you have linux, check if pppoe-discovery -I interface will give you any answer.

I called them again today. they reset the mac address. it didn't help.
I connected my computer to my neighbor's laptop using a network cable. I was able to ping their computer. So my network card is working fine.
This only leaves the box on the roof. It's weird that it is correctly turned on and the network cable coming from a roof shows as connected (green light) but it's not working properly. I hope they will come check it tomorrow.

What exactly does that mean?

It means something wrong with the unit at roof, and you are not connected to basestation.

I dont have VISP, Im with Cyberia, however i realized something the past week. At some point the latency went down to 100ms from its usual 151-171ms. However, the next day it went back up to 200ms+, and its been like that till now (6 days). Not sure if it's a common thing right now with rest of ISP, but need to call them today to confirm.

Ok, VISP replaced the thing on my roof. but I'm getting 10 to 25% packet loss pinging 2.2.2.10 (the DNS, a local IP). This makes online gaming impossible.
I called them a few times.
Some person called Joseph (I think that was his name) suggested I use mtr on linux instead of ping command.
He said he'll monitor it today and send someone over tomorrow. He suggested this may be interference.
Sounds like a lot of VISP support technicians use Linux too :))
