I am the one idiot from Lebanese ISP's who is talking on forums and giving real feedback, telling truth, and i am getting loads of shit on my head. Thats why i try to keep silence more and more, and talking only with closed communities, where people is smart ones. For others if i will tell truth, or give BOFH excuses - will be same result.
Yes there is interference, and yes i locate it on one of towers in Beit Merry(two sleepless nights driving in half of beirut with spectrum analyser), and yes there is no law even that will let me enter there and shutdown faulty equipment.
I am trying my best to find way to eliminate it (technical ways), but they are or cost too much or just take time. Actually one of them i finish few days ago, and now just finetuning them. Now interference will end only on slight degradation of bandwidth. Additionally i will have more time to hunt down and record interference pattern and forward it to TRA.
Stoppage of https was caused by incorrect QoS settings, two carrier numbers was mixed, and as result it caused complete traffic stoppage. It is fixed today 21:30 (while all enjoying christmas).
Maybe i must record all that to video? But i guess people who tell such bullshit doesn't worth my respect.
Additionally i suspect all this interference is sabotage, and i am sure, if i will find that, investors of company will hung the person who did it on nearest tree. I won't give also any deep technical details, because:
1)Noone understand well what i am talking about. Especially guy who is swearing there is not much smarter than crow who like shining things. ipad, iphone on his blog, and making photo of his new toy - smartest things i see here. And he criticizes me, that all this bullshut. Dude, do you really know what means word interference?
2)It is can be mentioned as trade secret, because i dont want to disclose details of our communication system.
And yes. As customer you are right, why you are getting shitty service?
Well thats easy, you have choice:
A)Getting unreliable service from private ISP. Private ISP's SURVIVING here, and because they are forced to do max economy - their services don't have proper redundancy, it is getting congested at peak time. Why? Because you elect your politicians by their religion and by their leaders. You politicians do nothing, and laws here is pretty outdated. You don't have paypal? Say thanks to missing digital signature law. You dont have VoIP? Say thanks to outdated law forbidding to do that. You dont have proper internet? Say thanks to missing laws that regulate monopolies.
B)Get better, but more expensive service from monopolist Ogero. Make them stronger, so they can be sure you support them, and you like to pay for overpriced internet . Sell your future for few cents and few milliseconds to play in your PS3 better. At least still you can buy here PS3, even it is overpriced here (read: you are robbed again).
C)Act NOW. NGO, communities, install private DVB-S one-way internet , try to talk with people and change situation, make your own ISP.
Just to have somehow unstoppable internet, in Lebanon, you need to spend around $2000-$3000/month minimum. And it will not be much, around 256-512Kbit/s, but unlimited.
You need:
1)Do deal with DSP so they will run small VSAT under their license.
2)Get 2-3 dedicated backbone connections from reliable ISP's.
3)Setup small rack that will failover your connection
4)In some cases you need collocation hosting server outside, to avoid interruptions during backbone changes.
Thats end. I dont want to waste even one more minute here, for such posts.
