nuc, does downloading from V-Enjoy affect the FUP/Quota/"Unlimited internet"/whatever u wanna call it ?
I think that this was changed recently and it doesn't affect now ( confirm with teo and nuc )
and I think the guys at visp are putting some more goodies on v-enjoy :P

Here is the news:
1. Unfortunately, really the v-enjoy bandwidth affects the FUP. Sad, but true.
2. The whole problem is a technical one, not a matter of management's decision.
3. We entirely agree and know that it is not fair, but see (2). So our goal would be to find a way and fix this ASAP. With the current system
implementation that is not easy at all, but we will find a way.
Will keep you updated. I really hope to be able to provide you with good news shortly.

Cool, I was not hallucinating after all

Same here. built in google search in firefox doesn't work.
But opening

ok thanks i have been tring to solve this for the past 3 hours , i was just about to get crazy
hussam
VISP support suggested it might be a firefox problem.
If you can reproduce the problem under IE (I don't have IE under Linux), please report it too.

the same problem happens for IE , I have to restart the connection to have internet access again

Hi, it was protection from DDoS bots.
Most of Lebanese computers have injected this days massive amounts of some specific trojan. 1 day i found out that all network flooded by DDoS requested by botmaster, who managing this malicious code. Google from browser had same search pattern. I remove it for now, since i inform most of owners of accounts who was infected, and they clean their PC's.
nuclearcat
This is how DDoS bot works.
GET /search?q=0 HTTP/1.0..User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1)..Host: 221.7.91.31..Pragma: no-cache....
Just a proof.

nuclearcat. I noticed my #ping (latency) in eternal lands online game through port 2000 went up from ~400 ms around a week ago to 680-730ms. Is there a technical problem?
Edit... Better now. down to 480ms.

let's give it up to Teo :
Finally, a DotA gaming server is being made on VISP.
=)

Anyone having problems with connectivity to visp? when I ping the dns from /etc/resolv.conf , I get values over 1000ms.
while browsing is not very affected, this is killing online gaming.
Also if I have a pppoe IP 172.16.16.75 and I try to ping 172.16.16.1 (server address), I get pings of over 2700ms.
Any idea, nuclearcat?
EDIT:...
Nevermind. I called Visp support thursday evening and they fixed it :)

it's been around 4 days i cannot use youtube at all.
nuclearcat
