Hey all
Just got a Thinkpad T61 (Core2Duo 2.2 GHZ, 1 GB Ram --> yeah i know the Rams should be min 2GB, but my company got it for me, so i had to shut-up ehehe. Good enough they agreed to get me a Thinkpad) and it has Vista Business. Not sure any of u around here is still using Windows anyways hehehe
But.. I HATE Vista !. It is so sluggish. I read about how to make it less heavy by turning off some features like sidebar and indexing and so on, and some mentioned that if i change the display to classic windows (away from the only-good-for-pimping Vista Aero) it should run faster. Is that true ? (knowing that the T61 has an Nvidia NVS 140M - Dedicated 128MB Video RAM, oh and 4.1 index score)
Any difference made through those tweakings ?

To an extent, but not much. One thing you have to know about Vista, is that it requires certain processing technology. Just because a system can handle it, doesn't mean it is supposed to run it. Got the idea, captain? You have motherboards that support Vista, and others meant to host it.

Captain ? heheh i like this one
Yeah Tigerheart.. am with you 100%
Altho the peeps at Thinkpad assume that this machine was MADE for vista, it has the Windows Vista tag, not the Windows Vista Capable tag.. but whatever.. marketing is marketing afterall
Am beggining to actually love the indexing functionality. Makes things too easy though, am not used to that heheh
