I download the Trial thing for Panda Internet Security
I got to play with it yesterday for around 30 minutes
here comes my feedback so far :
Installation :
I Noticed that when launching the installation there is that pause and stop button
i wonder if it is reading stuff from the internet or just installing (i think i will have to re-install and disconnect from internet, if someone can test this, would be great )
it will be cool if i can pause or stop the installation
but then typical install shield ran after the first screen
There was a conflict with Kaspersky
I wonder y these software don't work together.. is it on purpose .. or there is some real reason . i want to know y
so i had to remove kaspersky
the setup was easy
i noticed that the definition are from the 7th (July) that is 3 month ago, even tho i just downloaded the thing
so while updating, there was no pause button , or something to hide the form of the update
i usually have lot of things opened , and i hate having more stuff in the taskbar
the download of update doesn't resume if error in con, i have to try again the whole thing
Scanning :
i performed a scan with the old definition files
it is good , fast enough
but eats some resources like someone from tigerhearts said
it detected for example filezilla client as adware
i had a tool to remove the xp genuine thing.. it detected it
a memory scan showed nothing
(i think cuz my system is somehow clean)
now i am updating then performing a full scan :D
when i have some more time , i will setup a virtual machine , and tell my sisters- brother - friends that they are allowed to use the usb.. they will be so happy and thrilled
i will probably get on that VM the latest and most updated viruses, trojans, malwares
then i will create a restore point and do a test .. kaspersky, panda, and avg on detection time and rates, cleaning speed and such

The pause during installation is due to Panda taking ownership of certain common files in Windows. It's perfectly natural. As for the conflict, it happens because some programs take ownership of files, and when another program is installed, the new program demands permission to own the same files. It's just like when you have 2 computers with the same IP. Will go berserk.

Next thing to do is try find out about the files :P . if you have the list of files, would be nice if you post them
i think i can google or use some tool that tells me wich ownership have been changed
AVG doesn't do this, i had to remove avg cuz i wanted to try kaspersky.. after installing kaspersky i re-installed AVG, it is ok
so i think AVG doesn't need to have the ownership... but still kaspersky gave conflict
i am checkin this issue :D
i performed a full scan yesterday for around 1 500 000 file
the speed is good , but i put use the CPU Management option , it is like concede ressources to other app in kaspersky
i got couple of tools detected like the thing to remove the windows genuine and such
i am not wow impressed .. i think i have to try on a dirtier system
but there are lot of interface modifications and suggestions that can be changed
and lot of details to improve but those things are important for the "user Experience"
but what matter most is the main purpose of this software : detection rates...speed
i just got my hands on my friends laptop...installing panda and tryin
(is ther a link to download the update and apply them thru files )
