Hey mates,
i would like to ask you what is the main difference between a Pentium IV Processor & a Core 2 Duo Processor.
I've surfed on the internet but didn't find the specific differences between them.
Regards.

Pentium 4 - obsolete NetBurst architecture. High frequency, high TDP, low performance.
Core 2 Duo - based on P-III architecture, just they move all technologies what is good from P4 (including new technological processes), and they got better than "NetBurst" CPU. MUCH faster.

Is there any other comparison more detailled ?
Thank You .

In a nutshell, there isn't really much of a difference. The architects at Intel got stuck at P4, so they kept modifying it. Some P4 processors with original cloaking are even fast than Core 2 duo. When you say Core 2, it sounds fancier than P4 and newer, thus sells more. What really changes is the frequency and caching module. It's all commercial, dude. Don't bust your brains over it.
