rolf Yesterday, my linux box (router/web server/mysql server) had an unexpected shutdown in the night due to a power cut. I wake up today and find it in a mess... with the following services failing to start: snort, httpd, mysql, squid... squid for example, exits with a "segmentation fault". What's more, the "ls" command also fails to work, giving me a "segmentation fault". I did some maintenance, that is freed some space (disk usage was about 98% i think), ran e2fsck and fsck, but to no avail... the problem remains. I think it might be due to the powercut, does anyone have experience with that? Anyway i got the feeling that ntfs is more reliable then ext2fs, and anyways i got tired of linux's command line work, so i'm thinking of replacing that machine with a small embedded router and move the services (squid, web and mysql) to a windows server.
