Hey mates,
i have a USB Flash that used to work on my pc and suddenly stopped to work. I've tried it on another computer and it worked. I tried other USB Flashes on my computer and they worked. Only my USB Flash is not working . How can i handle this problem ?

Have you tried plugging it in another USB port?
Locha
yes man ... i've tried it ...

I am assuming your on an XP computer.... If so go to Administrative Tools in Control Panel and then Computer Management, and check if your drive shows under disk management
PS: do you have daemon tools on the pc shi?

The flashes sold in lebanon - 60-65% crap. Cause i did USB flash based system, i know this for sure. They are mostly VERY unreliable. To know yes or not - u have to unscrew one, and it is not always possible. So better to buy in good store, and brand.

It didn't appear ... Yes, am workin on an XP Professional Computer ... The funny thing is that the sound of pluggin it in & out is done ... but no visible detection ... What do you suggest ?
Thanks anyway for the support

Try Linux LiveCD, and it will show all technical information.
Or check in device manager, to see what device appearing in list, when u plug in flash.

use the following Spell :
doumrakadaboum
it should work
if you use a pencil like a magic stick , would have better chance to work
check the device manager if everything is ok
bring another usb device and see if it works on the same place u plugging ur usb
try scaning for hardware change .. re-installing driver ... uninstalling and reinstalling

I have the same problem. My pc would not connect to my LG flash disk/mp3 player.
In the past it worked... but now not anymore.
What exactly happens is that when i plug it in, i can hear a "dong-dong-dong" sound after a couple of seconds. When I unplug it i hear "ding-dong" which is the normal sound for unplugging usb device. The dong-dong-dong means something like "usb device failed".... i think
Maybe is it because of a windows update?

Better to look to dmesg :-P Than hear dong-dong-dong and other Windows Voodoo things :-D
If u are a geek, it is a must to have Linux. Dong-Dong-Dong good excuse for house wife, to say "my microwave is not working, it is doing dong-dong-dong". Geek must speak technical language.

Now i know, that information stored in NVRAM or geometry information busted. This flash can be recovered, if i can find service program for specific controller, which is used in this flash.

Another usb device works fine ... I've checked the device manager and nothing is appearing and it wasn't a bad USB ... it was a usb flash using a Kingston Memory ...

Try uninstalling all USB mass storage devices that have the yellow exclamation mark (in device manager), then unplugging and re-plugging. I did that and it fixed my problem with the ding-dongs and dong-dongs.

The Flash USB's BIOS has locked up to your system. Lots of my clients get that. Some of them just start working back on their own after not getting used for a while. It means that your device is beginning to go wacked. Soon, it won't work anywhere. Just get a new one buddy. There is a way to fix it, but it takes some work and is not worth the effort. PM me if you want the procedure.
