So I had this problem that the 6GB disk space on my box was getting full, as you can see:
[root@summer root]# df
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/hdb2 7503116 6381104 740872 90% /
/dev/hdb1 101086 10307 85560 11% /boot
none 127952 0 127952 0% /dev/shm
So how to see which installed packages take the most space on the system?
voila
rpm -qa --queryformat '%{SIZE}\t%{NAME}\n'|sort -nrk 1|less
Now you can use arrows and page up or down to browse
If you want to save output to a file intead, replace the pipe '|less' by a file redirection, for example '>~/rpm_packages.txt' (the ~ will be replaced by your home directory)
