samer I just got the latest windows update and noticed a new icon in the tray bar. *oops* it's the new windows genuine advantage thingy that'll annoy us even more. I tried to ctrl+alt+delete it from the taskmanager, but it kept coming up. So I figured out a way to shut it off while i'm working on the PC. Note: you'll still see some messages when you boot your computer (about your pc not being genuine.) Here's what you have to do (a stupid, yet effective solution.) : 1. windowsbutton+F (or just Start -> search) 2. write ' wgatray.exe ' (without the quotes) 3. you should get 2 or 3 directories with wgatray.exe in them I got those: %systemroot%\system32 %systemroot%\system32\dllcache %systemroot%\system32\SoftwareDistribution\Download\6c4788c9549d437e76e1773a7639582a now rename the three wgatray files to wgatray.exe.123 (or whatever extention) and ctrl+alt+delete wgatray.exe from the taskmanager. Voila..
samer edit: i just found some alternative ways: here - http://labnol.blogspot.com/2006/04/workarounds-to-disable-non-genuine.html
