hi folks, it's me antokh 8) 8)

ok, i just recently bought an HP color laser printer, and i'm wondering why are there 'yellow' toner cartridges, as well as 'cyan' toner cartridges, and other colors?
will i need a toner cartridge for each color (that would be ridiculous!!)???
i mean i want to print multicolored documents... what the hell!!

help me please,
antokh 8)
hey mabrouk 3al colour laser printer, great choice :D as for the toners why don't u check out the manual? I'm not sure if you need a toner for each colour, i doubt it. I think one toner with all the colors is what you should have. Don't quote me on this cause I'm not sure.

As for why the colours? We use CMYK to print, cyan, magenta, yellow and key (black). Those are the colours that are used to make up all the different colours that you see in every day life.
thanks for the advice man... i haven't received my printer yet but it comes with no cartridges and no drum kit...
will check the manual when i receive my printer and will keep u updated
thx again
As mahgoum said these 4 basic colors (if you cosider black a color) are used to reproduce all other colors by mixing them in color grids. The same color system is used in industrial printing presses.
Some older or cheaper printers use 3 colors: RGB (as in computer monitors and TVs), but that makes for less impressive prints, especially for dark colors.
Some photo printers use 6 colors.
I hope your laser printer takes 4 toners at the same time, or else it wont make a lot of sense.
yep... got my printer and it is 4 colors as you guys said...

the thing is, i have to buy the toner cartridges and the drum kit... that's around 300-400$ ... wooooops
but anyway, it was worth it since i bought the printer for only 25$ and it's brand new
what?? yess 25$ ... VIVA EBAY!!!!!
Haha reminds me my father buying an inkjet printer... costs $60 and the ink is included. But when the ink finishes, you have to buy new cartridges... at $60!
My father found that funny, he's planning to throw the printer away and buy a new one everytime it runs out of ink.

yeah me two!

that's why i 'm now considering a laser b/w printer. It prints around 4000~5000 pages and you can refill the toner for 40000L.L.
