processor heat problem

look im play all types of games on my pc and i never my processor heated but when i play this game silent hill 2 my intel monitor starts beeping and my process goes really hot and when i play games that need more processing u know more engine power it never heats up so whats the problem

i have p4 3.0ghz 1gb ram geforce fx5200

Well it might be that silent hill 2 actually needs more processing power ie from the cpu, but other games might be more grfx oriented therfore the grfx card takes much of the power...

I dont thing that there is such a thing as "software intensive". I dont see what you mean by that. The gfx card is also hardware.

toxix you might want to get a case with a side air intake for the CPU if you dont already have one.

I mean that processing is software intensive (ie. it has to go through the cpu) but hardware is when i talk about it going only through the grfx card and processing is done on the grfx card.

OK THIS IS WEIRD SH 2 when i play it after 5 mins i get alert but thert is fuking scary cuz my temp isnt going to the yellow range it goes directly to the red which is crazy it looks like my pc is gonna blow up and plus when it heats up that much should the pc go slower cuz my pz doesnt it stays fast but i dont now weird i ve been waiting so long so i can finish this game

weird thing is 2 month ago i used to played it never heated up

Even though this only happens with sh2 just perform a major clean up ie: try to clean your heatsink from dust and the likes , make sure the ventilation is not blocked.

GUYS !!! i had the same problem with my P4 2.4 Ghz it turns out that the threshold temperatrures are all messed up... that is for all the 2.x series ... dunno about the ones that got shipped with the latest motherboards .. wait maybe i can geta link
