ok to all those who know how to use this program... i downloaded it for free, and i want to use it to open ports so i can play games online.... how do i do that?
thx
mahdoum
what does it do and is it anygood if i use adsl?

Here's how it works. It's really not complicated.
The internet uses different protocols.
HTTP is used to download webpages and files, FTP to transfer files, POP3 and SMTP for mail, MSN for chatting, KAZAA, BITTORRENT, and countless others...
Your ISP can detect the protocols that you are using by the ports used or by scanning the traffic. Then he can decide to block, limit speed, or reduce bandwidth priority of some of these protocols.
What an http-tunnel does is send kazaa data inside http data. That means you're using the HTTP protocol, and not the KAZAA/BITTORRENT/Whatever protocol to communicate with the internet.
Why HTTP? Because HTTP is the protocol used for browsing webpages and downloading files, and it is the most likely to not be blocked. Also because in lebanon it is usually the protocol that is given the highest priority (hence the most speed) because people usually judge the quality of internet by the speed of web browsing and file download.
How do they send kazaa/bittorrent/etc.. though HTTP? Well the principle is very easy. Imagine you go to the post office with a yellow envelop. At the post office you learn that there are two sorts of envelopes: yellow and red. Yellow envelopes will arrive in two weeks, red envelopes will arrive in two days?
What do you do, assuming that you cannot open your envelope? You put your yellow envolope in a red envelope and ship it. Now it will arrive faster.
That's exactly what http-tunnel does, it puts kazaa data inside HTTP packets.

About adsl it depends if your isp is slowing down kazaa/bittorrent etc...
If you want to use it in saudi arabia, i think it's blocked or illegal because it lets you bypass the state censorship firewall.
I dont know about censorship in dubai, though....

batata you have to socksify your game, as it probably does not support SOCKS.
Download "sockscap V2" form the internet.
Open sockscap and click new and browse to the executable of your game. You'll now be able to launch your game socksified by double clicking on the new link in the sockscap window.
If your game supports socks (which is highly unlikely) just put 127.0.0.1 as socks server and 1080 as port in the options.
You'll have to find a way to get high-speed subscription, either by paying 5$/month off your credit card or by cracking the program. I dont know how to crack it, ask somebody else.
But anyway I dont think you'll be able to play games. Lebanese ISP have a bad latency usually, plus http-tunnel adds some latency, so you'll end up with truckloads of latency. Thats plenty of time to get killed in the game!

lol bypassing the saudi's filters is easy :P, but I was wondering is there anyway I can disguise my downloads, becuase I have a limited bandwidth that I can download per month. Although I am unaware of how this works (ie http download is the same as opening a page right?)
rolf
IMO there's no way around download volume limitation. What http-tunnel does is turn the kazaa traffic into http traffic. But usually any traffic, whether http, kazaa, mail, etc.... is counted as download.
rolf
yes downloading a file is the same as opening the page. When you open a page, you are actually downloading multiple files: the html file, the images, and any other CSS or JS files (if you understand web design).
mahdoum
:P I understand webdesign hehe just wasn't sure if downloadin through http was the same as opening a site. :P people with little bandwidth can't open a lot of pron sites lakan hehe
rolf
pron??
LOL
Depends on which ones ;)
