• Software
  • 3rd party firmware support for ASUS DSL-AC51 (AC750) WIFI router.

Hello LebGeeks,

I’ve looked everywhere but couldn’t find direct support for my router in any of the well-known open-source firmware projects. I really dislike the default web GUI and need more flexibility and control, which is why I’m determined to try flashing it with something like OpenWRT—even if it carries the risk of bricking the device.

That said, my specific model doesn’t appear to be officially supported by any custom firmware, so I’m reaching out to see if anyone here has had a similar experience. Any kind of insight, advice, or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Here are my SoC details:
• SoC: MediaTek (Ralink) MT751020
• CPU: MIPS 34Kc V5.5
• DSL Support: Built-in ADSL/VDSL modem
• MTD Layout: Fairly standard (bootloader, kernel, rootfs, etc.)
• WiFi: MediaTek (Ralink) chipset (likely similar to MT7620/MT7610 setups)

Thanks in advance!

With DSL in most of cases you are out of luck because of DSL chipset itself. It is often easier to put modem in bridge mode(or find one that support it) and setup some fully supported OpenWRT router.
