As some researchers said, some missiles (bunker buster) that the idf used on Lebanon to target high profiles people could be containing depleted uranium.
From a website addressed to anti-mining professionals , the blast can project alpha radioactive dust within 50m outside the blast area, so anyone who want to go on site should be wearing mask and gloves as well as be dressed from foot to head.
But worse than that is when heavy rain will hit Lebanon, these dust particles will go inside the soil and most probably contaminate the water table, so the very water you are using at home could be slightly radioactive in the coming weeks.
What can we do to avoid that?
I am no scientific but I guess 2 things based on [https://www.mineactionstandards.org/standards/09-30-02/]:
- The Lebanese Health minister should appoint a team to investigate with Geiger counters on the sites where DU missiles could have been used to check if indeed there is a radioactivity above normality.
- If yes all the destroyed materials on these sites should be removed asap before it starts to rain.
What do you think?
