  • Is affiliate marketing worth a go?

Hello guys,
Is affiliate marketing really worth a go? Has anyone started it or know someone who has? Is it profitabale? Doable?
What products to rely on? Physical Products or Digital Products?
Rarely relatively cool, like avon cosmetics, often overpriced crap that you need to sell using your friends trust in you, and sometimes dumb and criminal pyramids(ponzi schemes). If you see something not clear - run away, no matter how convincing the one who pulls you into it.

Avon quite cool cause their marketing model is clear, instead of investing in mass ads - they invested into distributors, ordinary people and direct sales. Unfortunately they made several dumb decisions, instead of adapting to digital age - they hired some business-woman from johnnsons&johnsons who decided to sell in-store and this technically destroyed their business.

So first point to check - they should sell understandable, reputable product. If it is some vouchers, certificates or other questionable bullshit - it is a scam.
Don't fall for scams. I know a place that does this sort of thing on the 6th floor of st Joesph center in Dora.
They tell you that you can work with them in network marketing if you buy a catalogue, voucher, or an item for 50,000LL and that if you do that, you are part of the company.
In reality, they have quite a bit of real products in stock but you are not expected to sell anything.
You are not a salesperson or marketer or representative. They are. You are only a customer. You bought a catalogue, voucher, or 50,000LL product.
The man or lady who will go in after you may also buy a 50,000LL product, or voucher, or a catalogue.

Herbalife does this sort of crap too. Imagine a product found at you next door store or pharmacy for $80. The store bought it in bulk for $60 each and is reselling for $80.
What Herbalife does is plan a presentation which 50+ people can attend. Those 50 people are encouraged to buy the product for $60 directly from Herbalife, a massive $20 saving. They tell you that you will get a badge or bag with the purchase which indicates that you are part of the herbalife family now. As an affiliate, you get products for $60 instead of $80. That's nice and all, but do you have a store or pharmacy you can sell from? Does harbalife expect you to sell their items? No and No. At most, you may resell one bottle a month to your neighbor who is trying to lose weight.
Also according to statistics by the ministry of tourism and ministry of finance, the success rate of affiliate marketing ranges between 0.3% and 0.8%. The recurring customer rate is almost 75%. That means that on average, you need over a 100 friends to successfully sell one product.

Again, you are not a marketer. You are an end customer only.
