Well I got my hand on a Draytek 2862 modem... long story short, this modem is a beast. Literally it's the best thing I've ever owned.

My other D-Link / TP-Link/ Thomson and Cisco modems were syncing at 14-16Mbps max with SNR tweak and with sporadic disconnections.

I've been online since 24 hours and here's my results :

I've been always hesitant about shipping one even though I heard slot of good feedback. Pretty impressive at such low SNR margin.
Never heard of this brand before, where did you get it from and how much did it cost you ?
Just to pitch in since I recently ordered a Netgear Nighthawk through ShopNShip (aramex)

I bought it from Amazon for $100 so shipping and fees were about 40$ (40% the price of the item but I let it go)
When it got to Lebanon it got held by the ministry of Telecom for 3 weeks and the charged me 110$ EXTRA for "clearance"
. When I got my item, it was untouched. The wrapping was n perfect condition and no one seemed to even touch it.

Moral of the story, don't order a router through a carrier service

Those are amazing speeds over ADSL2+, can you provide an estimated distance between your residence and the Central Office? Note that the main cable usually follows a snake like pattern between the streets to reach the CO.

Got if from Amazon.fr for 200 EUR as it was on sale ( was in Paris ).

I don't know really, technically it's my parent's house, a 35 y old building in Jnah and the Ogero CO is like 800 m away. But for a 23dB attenuation, i think the modem is great.
