Just to say i am asking this question because the other thread is like outdated and i want new reviews from people's opinions of the Lebanese university i am studying at AUL currently and plan on moving to LU after the end of this semester. Am i doing the right thing? would you recommend me to do this step ? i am studying CCE by the way . one more question why do a lot of people say you need "wasta" to apply for LU . what do you think about this ? Thanks in advance !
What do you think of the Lebanese university?
Dude i don't think you can transfer credit from aul or any other university to lu
What? Why not? You because of the entrance exams? I said i am applying next semester. What if i apply next fall semester?wmz96 wroteDude i don't think you can transfer credit from aul or any other university to lu

Will you be heading towards Hadith or Roumieh?
Side note: you don't need a wasta to apply for LU in any way.

I'm currently in my third year in Petrochemical Engineer in LU Hadath.
You don't need wasta to apply to LU (They usually say that for the Dorms there). I don't know if you know, but there is no CCE here. But people usually go for electrical engineer, and at the fourth year they major in Telecom.
To give you thorough thoughts on LU, I need to know are you planning on starting here at first year or third year? How many years have you completed in AUL?

Great so now i have to change my major too i am still a first year first semester student. I still didnt finish the semester so i am new to all of this. My plan was that i would finish my semester then apply to LU for Spring semester. Now i really dont know what to do!mohammadk97 wroteI'm currently in my third year in Petrochemical Engineer in LU Hadath.

The thing about LU is that the first two years are tough, really tough, and given that you didn't finish your first, you will have to start from scratch next year, you can't start in spring (They also won't exclude a couple of subjects because you completed a year elsewhere). And you have to do the entrance exam, so study well.Cage wroteGreat so now i have to change my major too i am still a first year first semester student. Once you finish the first two years (common trunk), which will have a high sense of satisfactory, it'll get much easier when you start with the major.
Concerning the major, I've been told that the telecommunication engineer is like an equivalence of CCE here, feel free to check the full course log here http://www.ulfg.ul.edu.lb/courses?major=1.
Also, if you scored on your first two year 70/100 or more, you can apply for a double diplome abroad (France, Italy, Belgium), you can even apply for CCE there, and the acceptance rate is quite great if you have an above average mark.
I hope you have everything will work out for you, and Good Luck.
So basically what you're telling me is that in order that i enroll in LU i would have to forget about all the credits that i did in AUL? Like wasting one year of my life for nothing? Because honestly the reason i want to apply for LU is that i heard it has a good degree therefore gives me higher chances to get accepted abroad to work.mohammadk97 wroteThe thing about LU is that the first two years are tough, really tough, and given that you didn't finish your first, you will have to start from scratch next year, you can't start in spring (They also won't exclude a couple of subjects because you completed a year elsewhere). 1 year is nothing don't stress out over it. If you're gonna waste 1 year for 40 better years it's totally worth it.
I believe you should be more concerned about passing the entrance exam(getting accepted is hard that's why it's quasi-fres do not take it for granted) than losing the semester.
Good luck and study well.

Thanks i need it. What i got right now is that i am going to have to apply next fall semester since i cannot transfer credits to LU and cant apply for the spring semester. So any of you guys would like to tell me what's better to do? Should i have to complete the spring semester in AUL or just search for a full-time job until its time for fall semester applications in LU?NuclearVision wroteI believe you should be more concerned about passing the entrance exam(getting accepted is hard that's why it's quasi-fres do not take it for granted) than losing the semester.

i suggest you finish the semester. And look for a third plan. I am not discouraging you to apply for LU but i have the impression that you don't know what you're up to, it's a rough road my friend.
Best of luck!

You can't transfer to LU engineering department doesn't accept transfer. The only way to do it is to the the 3rd year, after you've done 3 years elsewhere. You'll have to do an exam, and rarely anyone ever gets accepted. Sources: I was an LU engineering student. And rumors say no one has ever been able to transfer to LU engineering.
Off topic but, I have to tell you. Don't study CCE if you're planning to stay in Lebanon. There is no work for it at all (I don't think there's any demand on building custom antennas and microprocessors here in Lebanon). Look into software engineering or systems (IT)

Hey thanks for the reply . I am studying CCE and i do not plan to stay in Lebanon i actually plan on moving to Canada or any other good country actually but i have been thinking of Canada lately. But my question is will i ever be able to? With my AUL degree? This is why i was thinking of transfering to LU because of its degree. But now i am taking a step back and i think i am gonna stay at AUL. But i am afraid i wouldnt be able to immigrate and work elsewhere with my AUL degree when after i graduate or even work here for a couple of years. Can you give me any advice?vlatkozelka wroteYou can't transfer to LU engineering department doesn't accept transfer. The only way to do it is to the the 3rd year, after you've done 3 years elsewhere.
