Aly wroteHello,
I am currently in the process of upgrading my desktop, well I am replacing my M/B, CPU, RAM and Case while keeping my other components since some are already up to date and don't need any upgrade.
This is my existing setup:
CPU: i7 4790
M/B: Asus Maximus Hero (IV I think)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2 x 4 GB 2133 Mhz
GPU: Asus Strix GTX 1080 Ti
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i
PSU: EVGA SuperNova G3 750W Gold
Case: Cooler Master CMIII something.
Monitor: Samsung 144Hz 1080p
SSDs and HDDs enough to fit my needs.
Plenty of corsair case fans.
After researching on the local suppliers website, here's what I am going to get:
CPU: i5 9600k from Mojitech 290$
M/B: Motherboard MSI MPG Z390 GAMING PRO CARBON from Mojitech 230$
Case: NZXT H700i CA-H700W-BR from PCandParts 189$ + vat
Now, for the RAM I am kind of confused, I am not sure what to get, I see alot of prices and brands in the market and am going to spend around 200$ for the Ram (16 GB), I narrowed my choices to these:
2 x HyperX Predator 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-4000 RAM for 91$ + vat each from PCandParts
HyperX Predator RGB 16GB 3600 MHZ for 206$ from Macrotronics
Patriot 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3000 RGB for 195$ + vat PCandParts
or even other brands or speeds, I am not really sure if it matters performance and FPS wise.
PS: I play on 1080p and I prefer High FPS vs Low FPS + Eye candy so upgrading my GPU to RTX is not justified for me.
Go for the fastest Ram speed mate but dual channel - as current mid to high end CPUs from Intel and AMD loves fast RAM - especially in favor of min and max frames per second. HyperX Predator 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-4000 RAM for 91$ + vat each from PCandParts two stick dual channel - Although I prefer Corsair Vengeance or Trident Z.
PS: RTX 2080ti nail both - high fps at high resolution with all setting maxed out.
