So my CPU 8700K crapped out and sent it in for RMA, PC and Parts told me that they spoke to Intel UK and they don't have any 8700K in stock so they have issued a refund....wtf they gave me 379 dollars store credit.... what the hell.

Did anyone go through RMA with PC and Parts?
They should be able to provide you with another one.
They must have some in stock seeing that they are offering custom made built cases with 8700k still an option.
Talk to them further and mention this point, and if they still keep saying no stock or we cannot provide you with those available parts, then you need to convince them to either give you a lower end with cash refund of the rest or a higher end cpu with No additional costs from your side.
Yes, many times, and it was a pain. Which is why I converted to macrotronics and amazon. The 10$ difference at most from pcandparts is not worth going through their incompetence, laggy website, and overall bad experience.

I am sorry to hear that happened to you. But you should, like AVO said, negotiate more, because you deserve at least cash! And btw 379$ is amazon price, not the cpu's value in Lebanon.

Do you have the invoice? Is the CPU priced at 379$ on it?
Did you buy it at $379 minus vat? If you bought at a higher price but not that high >$20 just eat the cost and buy from another place. I've never heard bad things about pcandparts though which is why this is confusing and sad

Did you OC the CPU?
What motherboard , cooling , PSU , and Vcore Voltage you have been using?
For How long you have been using the CPU?

PC and Parts RMA usually is done with a credit note bases (the easiest RMA option) , but the ambiguous part in their response to you " that they do not have any i7 8700k in their stock for replacement ".

If a person requested an order from them, say 10 custom built desktops listed here

https://pcandparts.com/custom-built-computers-in-lebanon/

Intel Coffee Lake i7-8700K 3.70GHz Six Core System- Intel Extreme PC

what will be there response ?
I did not OC the CPU, it was running hot AF when I first got so I didn't bother OC it, I thought I had a bad cooler, I got a kraken x52 LC and still temps were hot. One day it just died on me. I bought it at the time for 382+10% VAT which is around 420. They would not refund me the VAT because it has been over 3 months according to them.
9 days later
Late to the party but here is my fresh experience, I bought a notebook from them 2 years ago with 1 year of warranty, the motherboard died 3 weeks ago, I contacted them and they suggested that I send them the Notebook so they can take a look so I did, today I received this from them:

Kindly be informed that your RMAPP113074TM15716 has been processed and motherboard replaced
We used our Lenovo warranty extension option on your laptop
Total with 11% VAT and 1X $8.00 laptop shipping to your area would be $9.00USD or LP 13500 only.

10/10 RMA for them
I once RMA'd a stick of RAM from them
pcandparts are fraudulent and full of shit and they steal Tva which is their main income source.
and who the hell charges vat on rma shipping .. i deal with lots of companies pcandparts is the highest charging for aramex shipping and no other company charge vat on it
dealing with them for a while they are fraudulent, there are lots of better and cheaper alternatives than pcandparts or macrotronics who has a faulty shipping system they charge shipping on every product even if u buy multiple items. there are couple good options i tend to stick with

I don't see a logic in your point of view, charging for Shipping does not mean they are fraudulent, that is a big claim you have to back it up with facts, they always send an email with the full details of payment and you have the freedom to accept it or not, if you don't like it go buy from another store, and yes other stores like ayoub computers has items that are cheaper compared to pcandparts and with free shipping but for the main items pcandparts still the best
i didnt call them fraudaulant for shipping practices.. i just say vat on RMA part shipping which is not valid

VAT applies to all shipping charges. Doesn't matter if it's RMA or new item. Shipping in general is a VAT charged service.
